Arms crossed like in maraudermeats avatar.

I guess grip is the wrong word to use…

I can’t sleep, my fucking trap is throbbing, but the electro stim several times a day should heal it up in a few days. I do it very light, just under what I can actually feel and the current is therapeutic and seems to speed healing. If I were more consistent I’d have less neck injuries…ugh…I hate it when stupidity is a reason for injury.

If I recall you had mentioned an imbalance in your spinal erectors. If so, check this out: http://www.charlespoliquin.com/Training/boutagy-part-4.php

Are you on an undercover assignment and not able to log your stealth training?

Hey I am coming for a visit in your “Neighborhood” Next week–Since you haven’t posted I am assuming the worst…But I swear if I find you laying somewhere not breathing…I am NOT giving you mouth to mouth!

…Sick bastard…Hope all is good bro

Check your six…

Yeah. Where are you?

btw Alpha, give him mouth to mouth. Be a sport.

Hey folks I’m really sorry, I’m fine. I had to travel to set up an emergency site. We put comms in where there were not any and we had equipment delays and all kinds of fun adventures. No training really, but I was able to do some jujitsu rolling. I’m training today. I’ve decided to do DoggCrap training until I go on vacation. Jujitsu will be three days a week a few hours after the training so that I can eat and restore some energy.

I’m looking for some female help with 4 kids this summer on my vacation. I’ll be going from Chicago, IL to Mt. Rushmore SD and will be stopping a few places along the way for fun. One place will be Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin for water park action and the rest will be hotels with pools. I’ll pay for room, food, fun and extra cash. If any of you know of someone that would like to have some fun and help a dad stay sane it will be a good time.

I prefer a female because it will be nicer for the kids, but actually a guy who is cool would be OK too.

DB Bench 60lbsx12,5,3 /35lb db stretch 50 seconds

Seated military 115x5,3,3 125second stretch hold

CGBP 135x9,6,3 60 second stretch 15lbs

Wide grip Pull up BW 6,3,2

Kroc Rows 90lbs 11,5,3

wide grip pullup stretch unknown time need straps

chest supported row stretch unknown time need straps

This felt too easy, I’m sure I’ll be sore as hell though and I’m sure I’ll adapt to be able to push through more points of failure since I’m not used to failure training. My left trap all the way up my neck is tight, I’ll be rolling tonight and tomorrow.

I’ve had a hard time with my left hip flexor for over a week now, hurts to stretch it when getting up from chair internal rotation of the leg hurts too. It sucks, but I’m almost certain I can still train through it. The problem is Jujitsu, but I think I can work through that too and I don’t think it will hurt it anymore, maybe the movement will actually help. My Jujitsu instructor is getting some ass, bastard!

I’m glad to see you back again and that everything is okay.

Good luck finding someone to help. Where are you looking to find someone? Do you have family you can ask?

Thanks ouroboro,

I apologize for giving you all a scare, I didn’t have a chance to do much when we were asked to go, we were in a rush to get our equipment together and out to the helo pad.

As far as help this summer, I honestly doubt I’ll be able to find any, no one I know to ask at all, I’m sure the kids will survive me. We always have a good time, but it would all go better with a little help.

So last night was Jujitsu and the sensay decided too many folks were not in good shape so he had us do some conditioning, GREAT…after DC this was lovely. Needless to say between the DC and the conditioning the body is screaming at me today.

Didn’t eat well, didn’t sleep well, some personal drama affecting my life.

Barbell Curls 95x6, 4, 2

Hammer Curls DB’s 20’s x20,7,7

Calves Hipsled DC style 1-45 per side 5 reps each leg

1 leg DL pin 3 in rack 155x8 95x20

Front Squat 135x8 95x20

Killer stretches 60 seconds each

BB Incline paused at chest 155x8,5,3
DB OH Press 45’sx8,4,3
Reverse Grip BP (never done this before) 155x5,3,3
Chin-up 10,2,2
1 arm db row 70x9,4,3.5

It all looks very unimpressive. I’m just hoping for improvement session. I also hope to look better in a month.

I’m trying to figure out a good place to go after I drop the kiddos off. It can be from the U.S., S. America, Canada, Asia, Europe. What it must have is an atmosphere where I can let go and chill out. I need to relax, have a good time, feel good about life, be treated well.

Rio Bro…GO TO RIO – Best place I have EVER been! That or Plya de Carmen in Mexico…Take pics and have a blast!

Thanks bro. BTW still doing MMA only on the days I lift so that my days off are truly for healing. We were doing jujitsu (MMA style) until this week and we started kicks and punches. Good stuff and I’m learning a lot! When I was young I was pushed into a lot of fights and got good at it, but it was all instinct, this is much different and it is helpful.

I have of coarse taken some combat courses and they were kind of cheesy but I learned a little, this is something that actually enhances all I already know.

I’m on my second day of rest. Man to my joints feel good doing DC training. I do feel like I’m not in the gym enough, but if I grow and I feel healthy then I’ll get over it!

I’ve booked tickets and hotel to San Pedro, Belize. Looks as if they have a lot of stuff to do there and I’m looking forward to some laziness, some adventurous activity, some drinking, and we’ll see what else comes my way.

Along with the Mayan Ruins, the caves, the diving, the forests, the climbing, the kayaking, the fishing and the relative inexpensive price of it all it seems they have a decent night life. It looks beautiful too.

Here is a description:

Belize is a true tropical paradise, a place where you can explore the wonders of the wilderness while never straying far from the comforts of civilization. All the attractions of Central America are here: palm-shaded Caribbean beaches, azure seas, coral reefs, and vast expanses of uninhabited forest where clear rivers wind lazily past mysterious Mayan ruins, observed only by the monkeys and the birds.

The activities are endless. With the worldâ??s second-longest barrier reef and three coral atolls, Belize has the finest diving in the Western Hemisphere.

Fishing is spectacular, from tarpon and snook in the lagoons to bonefish and permit on the grass flats to billfish offshore. The many beautiful rivers offer everything from kayaking to cave tubing. The forested mountain landscapes are full of caves, and are perfect for hiking, birding, horseback riding and mountain biking.

“Open Road’s Best of Belize” brings it all to you, with tons of great color photos, maps, and sidebars!

So part of the genius of DC training is that you don’t repeat your training for three weeks, but you train your body parts 5 times during those three weeks. You get one week where you train every body part twice and the next week you train it only once. Also, you do repeat your training sessions, but they are repeated starting after the three weeks. Why is that genius? It has built in volume waves, the training is different most of the time but you do get a chance to repeat it making sure you get better at those lifts, more efficient at those lifts but you don’t over adapt to them. Most of us know that all of these things build muscle, but some of them seem to be opposing concepts.

For me repeating an exercise for more than two weeks leads to injury and the fact that I don’t do that is wonderful.

My body is responding to this training and I both hate and love the stretching. The stretching hurts, but I feel much better every day. I have to admit that I’ve added some stretches especially for the traps and middle back. I also do the hip flexor stretches and still do mobility and foam roll from time to time. We also stretch in Jujitsu.

Very long winded today.

The training:

DB Biceps curls 25x21,6,6 obviously will go up in weight as I got 33 reps and the goal is 20 to 30 with db’s, I’m still happy I started with 25’s

Pinwheel curls 25x9,6,6 I have 9 reps of improvement left

Barbell King DL 135x10 155x6

Back Squat 225x6 225x6 (lots of breaths between reps 4,5,6) 135x20 breathing squats started at rep 8, this was a big time grinder to 20

Today was weird, I was short of breath and had a very difficult time breathing. I don’t know if it was the heat, the fact that I have not slept well or just a PMS thing.

I don’t know if anyone still reads this but I have loaded some May pics and I have some more after todays training, but will not load them till later or maybe even tomorrow. I thought it would be fun to see how I look after a training session.

I messed up and repeated a session…how did I do that? Absent minded lately.

DB Bench 60x15,5,4 +4 reps from last time

Military seated press 115x7,3,3 +2 reps

Close grip BP 145x12,6,3 +10lbs and can move up because BB exercises move up at 20 reps

Pull-ups wide grip BWx6,4,3 +2 I really have to say I’ve always been shitty at wide grip pullups, chin ups I’m decent at, but my back is wide, that might be my best feature.

Kroc Row 90x12,6,4 +3 I’m not too good at these either, but I improved and that matters.

Today was tougher than it looks on paper, my number suck I can remember doing sets with much higher weights in the past, but it will come, it will come.

My back thickness exercises are supposed to be done with straight sets, but the nature of Kroc Rows is to cheat, so I am! I really want a thicker back. In my mind nothing says power like a thick back, a big ass, huge shoulders and huge tris. I’m fairly balanced, my shittiest body parts are upper chest and calves.

I got my straps in today and so hanging from the pull-up bar was still painful but more doable. I also held dumbbells while chest was against an incline bench to stretch my upper/mid back better.

The stretching is a bitch. Now I rest up and load up the protein for MMA practice. I skipped Monday as I thought I could use the recuperation time as my number one goal is to stay healthy while making progress.

I have a 90 minute Swedish massage scheduled for the night I land in Belize as travel is not fun for my lanky ass.

If anyone reads this thing I hope you are well and enjoying the warmth of spring/summer.

John Wayne said, “Life is tough, it’s even tougher if you’re stupid.”

My goal is to do less stupid things and more intelligent things! Take care.

I’m still reading your log. I just stopped commenting because I was hating you for the great trip you have planned.

I still have to try out Kroc rows. I’ll be doing them once the issue with my right lat clears up.

I’m with you on a strong back. I’m pretty vain about mine and keep admiring how much thicker and deeper it is. I’d like to look like you could park a truck between my erectors. To me, my back feels like the basis for all my strength.

Please post the videos. I want to see them.

The Belize trip?

no vids but the pics, all of them are in my profile which you have access to.

Yep, that is the kind of back I want. I have to say that looking at the first picture you have on your thread and looking at the pic you had up after your meet, you came a loooong way! Your back looks awesome.

Thick/Deep backs are nice. I like it when you can tell how thick a back is through a t-shirt.

Deads, Chins and Rows. Repeat.

Good to have you back Free.

Now that sounds way above average!
