Go up to some guy and say, dont you just love doing curls in the squat rack?
then when he agrees tackle him and crush his wind pipe with your thumbs, then kick him in the face untill you black out and tell the police you were mugged.

dude stfu. if u dont got somethin positive to say then dont bother posting. nobody needs ur shit around here.
Caffeine doesn’t seem to do much to me. Energy drinks dont do much except for this 1 dumass time i drank a cup of this stuff which was basically 8 cups of coffee in 1 cup, that got me going. other than that though it doesn’t do much for me.
I know that visualization works cause every so often ill picture myself knockin the snot out of some guy on the field and it revved me up but i never actually used it pre-game.
An ass-kicking workout always gets me goin as well but that’s only 3 days a week for me.
avocado - yeah gender degradation works best without a doubt, makes you want to maul someone… i dont think tellin my coach to call me a pussy before i get out on the field would work though. but without a doubt it does work best.
n3wb - god made you a funny guy.
thanks everyone for the advice so far. anyone else have any input?
3 x 200 mg pills is equal to 7 cans of red bull . I use prolab caffeine, george gregan caused controversy when he addmitted he and teamates followed a similar pre match routine
Before a game, try some Spike, listen to some aggressive music, and visualize doing your best. This always helps boost my aggressive/focus before training. Also, I know you said you didn’t want to try a test booster, but the increase of test I get when I’m taking Alpha Male makes me more aggressive.

Any workout that increases testosterone levels will increase aggressiveness. Furthermore, any CNS-intensive workout would also increase aggressiveness. Personally, I feel especially aggressive after very intense cluster sets.
That’s an interesting observation. I feel like lifting my car after a near 1RM workout but a 20-rep squat workout would call for a forklift.
Its been said already, but pure aggression really isn’t what you want, but focus, getting into the zone, ya know ?Rugby takes some tactics, and strategy (I’m sure you know) and animal agression can only take you so far.
If you can, get your hands on a copy of Wrestling Tough by Mike Chapman.Your library probably has it. Theres gonna be a lot of wrestling related stuff, but crossing over shouldn’t be a problem. It helped me an incredible amount. Plus, its a short, easy read, and after every chapter I ended up doing some pushups cause I was so pumped up. Awesome!
It wouldn’t hurt to ask the other guys what they do, if you haven’t yet…
I think the error is in your coach telling you to become agressive… what the hell is that supposed to mean? And he didn’t suggest how to do whatever he wants of you?
As far as focus goes, I find I do stuff much better when I clear my head and think of nothing.
@ja - sounds like a plan but the thing is I’m only 16 (17 in april) so I don’t think test boosters would be the best idea. I already supp. with ZMA which is supposed to raise test levels but I take it to help with sleeping (offtopic ZMA kicks ass for helping with sleep. It used to take me 1-2 hrs to fall asleep now I only take maybe 10mins if i have 3 caps half an hour before bed).
@quart - I’ll look for the book but I have my doubts that it will be there because my school doesn’t have a wrestling team. I’ll look for it online and hope for the best. I would ask but a lot of them aren’t very serious when they play. Most of them are runners anyways so they don’t worry too much about knocking people around. I’ll ask the one senior prop what he does and see what he says.
@daraz - during drills he gives a lot of… i dunno, motivational talk? Like a training partner talking you into and through a new 1RM or something like that.
thanks for the replies so far
You’re either aggressive or you are not. I’m not sure what kind of question that is.
aggressiveness can increase easily or drop throughout a day. stay awake for 24 hours and compare that to when you are awake for 2 and just did a few heavy squats while listening to proper music and you’ll tell the difference. as for how to be more aggressive… just be more aggressive in general. go and play punches with your brother or something.
ItWasntMe,
I sorta know where you are coming from man. I played football in high school, and I did my fair share of getting into the action, but I was never super aggressive. Looking back now, I think my problem was that I was too focused on what I was supposed to be doing at my position (my “job description”), instead of just going out and there and trying to fucking break guys in half. I don’t know if you are doing the same thing or not, but I know the feeling.
It's all mental though man. Get yourself psyched up whatever way works for you. Go out and want to win, want to hurt guys, want to be mean, whatever it is.
When I wrestle, I have to be as angry/agressive/focused as possible. I just look at my opponent and think “Im gonna fuck his day up” or something along those lines and I just kinda get angry. Sometimes I go too far and break noses, but that’s when the real fun begins.
Sniff some ammonia capsules that should get you fired up.

Hey, I was wondering if there were possibly any techniques or something along those lines that would help increase aggressiveness or adrenaline (preferably aggressiveness).
Rugby season is quickly approaching and my coach is pushing me to become as aggressive as possible (‘I need to get angry, not quite sociopath but close to it’ were the words I think). I find that generally once some outward pain is inflicted my adrenaline starts pumping (probably something to do with survival instincts) but I cant depend on that in a game.
I’m not looking for any supplements such as testosterone boosters or steroids to help me with this, just some proven methods to increase aggressiveness. Also I don’t have many bad memories that I can just pull up to get me going in case someone was going to suggest that. Also don’t tell me to go play some violent video games cause they do shit all.
I realize that I’ll probably get either stupid responses or flamed for posting this, but I’m dead serious about this.
Thanks
I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing you’re holding back a little power and fire on the field and you’re trying to overcome that? In cases like that, a lack of aggressiveness is generally caused by fear. Not necessarily fear of your opponent or even fear of getting hurt but some fear.
When most people hear “fear” they perceive it as being scared of something. But fear can manifest itself in far more ways than that.
think that some one you hate is watching you playin rugby and there gonna try and bash you with 5 of there mates after the game unless you scar em off by smashin some cunts on the field and proving ya not a soft cunt to be messed with.
some times when i hit the weights i pretend im in jail and all the nazi gangs are watching me pump weights and if i look soft there gonna kill me afterwards so i have to man up and go hard to survive.
works for me
Win more.
Eric Talmant posted this in his log over at Elite.

i think thats more about confidence rather than aggressiveness. aggressiveness is more about desiring something. the more you want something the more aggressive you’ll be to get it (think pussy)
or some food thats got a good bunch of mold on it. living alone as a college student, that sure has woken me up. its almost like a drug
haha, Judas, kind of sick.
OP: does your team do some sort of “pump up” ritual before the game? Not necessarily as extreme as a full-on Haka, but maybe some team focus/chants/etc.
Above all, especially w/ rugby, be focused before you act like a sociopath. Your team needs you all on the same page, so going on a one-man rampage isn’t going to help anyone.
What works for one person may do shit for another, but what I always did was a lot of introverted focus, heavy breathing, and pacing, and a number of depth jumps just to prove to myself I was ready. Oh, and if you guys are kicking off to start the match, “just that once” say fuck it, fuck the line, and be the first person to hit the ball carrier. Then get your ass back in line and play as a team
