Shouldn’t you be off calculating band tension so you can finally get that 250 lb bench you’ve been chasing for so many years?
What are your numbers. Surely you are able to bench 500, deadlift 800 and squat 1000. Otherwise you wouldn’t be talking so much crap. Oh wait, if you had those kind of numbers or any real strength you wouldn’t be on this forum at all. So what are your numbers.
Haha, so no one here has real numbers?
Lets just say I rep more than your maxes.
I manage a gym and I stopped a near fight the other day because a guy was using a bench press to rest his dumbells in between shrugs and he refused to let anyone use the bench…
Didn’t read the thread but I’m at work on a Saturday. When I came in there were 2 dozens donuts of varying kinds all neatly placed in a cardboard box. As I was filling up my 1.5L water jugg made in Switzerland a fatty I work with walked in and his face lit up at the realization that he now gets to enjoy the tasty treat covered in chocolate icing. This got me wondering:
Are donuts to fat people what an empty weight room is to me? Things that make you go hmmm…
I do incline bench presses in the squat rack.
I’m sorry.
If the “off use” of equipment is OK just because I’m paying for a membership, then maybe I’ll shit in the squat rack next time. I can use the thing any way I want, right?
Ok, I confess…I’ve used a bench for barbell curls. It’s a perfect height for grabbing the bar after your done with a set.

dumbbell stuff on the barbell benches.
doing little forearm exercises with the barbell on the barbell benches.
doing anything but barbell decline bench on the lone barbell decline bench press bench.

all of these are ok with me.

I can understand, yesterday I went to do some light work since I just got over being sick. I saw my gym recently got a foam roller and thought it would be good to do some rolling and loosen up since I had been stiff from being sick. When I was done, someone asked me if they could use it to support their head like a pillow while doing crunches. Oh brother.
im surprised someone found a way to misuse a foam roller.

I really hate it when ignorant people say you cant so this or that in the rack. If no one is using the fucking rack do what you please.
this IMHO. so long as its available, and your working with more weight than the preset bars at your gym, even if its curls, then its ok.
eg. if your gyms presets go to 130 lbs, then you can do whatever you like in the squat rack or power rack so long as its one of the fully acceptable movements for there, or your using more than the presets.
the ‘curling in the squat rack’ thread was a long and very amusing read.
i’m usually not too bothered by equipment missuse although sometimes it is just pointless e.g somebody the other day was doing shoulder press on the machine designed for calve raises. thers a perfectly good free weight bar AND a specifically designed machine wich where both free at the time. also wen people take ‘my’ (yes i said my) olympic bar i use for deadlifts and squats, only to put 2.5 or 5 plats either side for thier 100rep workout… why not use some of the other hundred sets of dumbells and barbells available??
anyway rant over
