Hope it Heals up soon man!
Don’t be a stranger Mr.!!!
All I can say is “wow.”
Ouch!
Double “wow”, double “ouch”. That’s incredible.
Well I’m back.
The last hockey tournament I was in back in January ended up with me getting a royally messed up back from a pinched nerve. I got my back driven into the hockey net by a defenseman from the other team.
I’m currently experiencing numbness in both arms. My right side has lost a lot of strength, due to I believe that the nerve is still being impacted.
To sum it up, I can curl a 30 lb dumbbell with my left arm, and only a 5 lb with my right arm.
I can’t get a 7.5 to move with my right arm ![]()
Game plan to to continue back stretches, and just do the weights I can on the right side and see if I can start getting all of the nerves to fire again,

Welcome back ![]()
I hope you get the nerve issues figured out and feel some relief soon!!
Chiropractor maybe.
That nerve issue sounds a bit scary. I hope it gets sorted out.
Yea been down that path. Emptied my HSA and had to stop.
I literally could not sleep initially because of the pain for the first week.
Update.
Still issues with my pinched nerve. I have a vaca to Branson scheduled w my girlfriend over the weekend, and I will start back on a lifting routine after that.
It will be interesting with the weakness in the certain shoulder arm movement dimensions.
I’m tending towards doing some variation towards a beginners full body workout, w extra days on the weak areas until I can get everything firing again.
And then back to 531.
Meanwhile, I’ve dropped 15 lbs in weight to 190 lbs. I’m going to credit that to my girlfriend who keeps me on track with my food intake, lol.
We just passed 5 months of being together.
League hockey is over, My team got knocked in the first round of the playoffs.
I had 6 goals and 6 assists on the season, which is pretty awesome considering I’m playing against a bunch of former D1/AHL/NHL players.
Adult hockey skills camp starts in May for 16 weeks.
Time to get ready for the next season.

Yay for the vaca! And congrats on the 5 month anniversary. Glad to see you are going to start lifting again. Hope you get your nerve problems straightened out soon!
Still sorting out lifting, I have gotten to strict curls w 10 lb on the bad arm.
In the meantime, one of my HS classmates has started posting on Facebook that men w fat bellies are the new sexy…
WTF
Which prompts the following pics. Maybe I should cut some before the impromtu HS Class meetup on Memorial day.
Great news about your arm! How much weight have you lost already?
Well… I haven’t really lost weight.
I usually weigh in around 200 lbs. Last time I weighed myself I was at 195.
Five pounds is five pounds! I’m sure between lifting again and your GF keeping you in check, you will be in good shape for the “reunion”
Well she does keep me active, lol
No real lifting to report, but I referred 5 hockey games in under 24 hours for an adult tournament.
Four of the five were at the level I would have entered a team in. The other game was one step below.
Did two late Friday evening and three in a row Saturday afternoon.
A little sore, but no real issues with knees.
Five hours of skating ![]()
So…
Still no real lifting, but my nerve issue seems to be slowly improving.
The adult hockey skills camp has started. First class I talked the coach into having us do the “dots” warm up skate to start.
Start in one corner of the rink, skate to the far face off dots and go around them back to the dots by where you started. Then back to the the far set in the neutral zone and around them back to the near dots, the the close dots in the neutral zone. Basically lapping the rink as hard as you can in shrinking circles.
The next week we started with Super dots, where you go behind the far net on the first lap, then the regular dots drill.
The other people in the camp asked me to stop giving the coach drill suggestions.
Last week I did 30 minutes of spin bike sprints, 30 seconds hard, 60 seconds recovery right after the camp.
