Spent an hour working on sticking handling, skating with the puck, obstacle drills with the puck. Intermixed with taking 2 laps around thr rink at random intervals.
Did a scrimmage for 30 minutes, until my right knee said “That’s enough”.
Knees felt ok. Did a lot better position and play then last week. Made some bad passes but then again so do the pros. Had the hometown player from my college there at the skate, it’s always amazing to watch hockey players with talent play the game. He kept it dialed down but still always being where the puck was going and some of the moves to get past us old guys was jaw-dropping.
Went to the parking lot to drink beer, grill burgers and brats, and watch the two game 7’s tonight of the the playoffs.

Unplanned walk - 2 miles
Made it half a mile from the gym and a back tire went flat on the Suburban. Of course the spare was at the storage garage… Walked to Walmart and back to give a can a fixaflat a try. Fail.
Fortunately one of my hockey buddies was still up and came to give me a ride to get tire, tools, and floor jack. He even brought beer.
Unfortunately ate dinner to close to the skate. Spent every shift trying to not re-eat General Tso’s Chicken. Didn’t help we had low numbers and only one guy on our bench…
Did better then last week, made several very good defensive plays, including stopping the best player at the skate by blocking his shot on the net and then clearing the puck and getting an assist.
You certainly get a great workout from hockey, but your squat numbers have been stagnant for some time. Why not try a bit heavier squatting? Should contribute to hockey, not that you need it.
Knees felt good. did a reasonable job. A couple shots on net, went wide on a redirction and hit the post 10 seconds later. Made some good passes, good anticipation. One of the other players said I skated well.
Missed lifting yesterday because the gym closed early. Oh well.
Hockey Skills camp - 1 hour
More shooting /passing drills. Warmup was a close ice drill which was really all about keeping your head up and making good fast passes. Well we at least got warmed up, lol.
