I'm a Loner Dottie...a Rebel.

Your right, this is has been a problem for the longest…I have so many cues in my fucking head that some are falling out of my T-rex brain! The flexing of the tri is a good cue, thanks bro.

Great…now I have to do DLs with 415 to see if I can get 5. You suck.
Not really. Strong lifting, bro.

And I see why you are so much stronger at pressing them me…you have triceps and I don’t.

DUDE! Your form is sooo much better. You’re definitely pulling back a lot more now. 465 eazy peazy.

Good pull.

Chin up more and lock you triceps. You are gonna roll you bicep sooner or later if you don’t.

Remember last time you got some criticism? This could get interesting…

I know they say don’t use straps but…try pulling double overhand with straps and see what that does for your arms. I would probably pull as much as possible with the double overhand just to build that memory.

Great work as always Matty!

reading some stuff over at elitefts and came across this: http://articles.elitefts.com/articles/training-articles/punched-in-the-face-edited/. My advice on grip is echoed by the writer. There’s more to this since a proper grip does activate muscles and allows more force to travel efficiently through the body. The lifter is able to generate more force.

Git - Thanks man, in 5 weeks Ill go for a new 1 rep max if everything goes according to plan…possibly 470?

PG - Thanks man, I have been hammering at it.

Rick - Yeah its a bad habit believe it or not it was much much worse.

James -LOL, last time I didnt ask for it and got some unwanted criticism, maybe asking for it will leave certain people to do the opposite…too late.

Silee - Im not disagreeing with you about grip and its importance I am disagreeing with your critique of my grip. For one thing you told me to go with a false grip which the video showed I did, I do grab the bar tight, I do use a false grip on all BB pushing movements and am an ardent supporter of proper grip helping lifts.

nice work

looking better and better-

good speed too.

so far so good with the program?

Matty you use false grip on MP like I do.

But what are you using on Bench? I laid off bench cause of the shoulder, and never got in the groove with false on Bench. Even though Tate swears by it.

Much better pulling.

Holy shit I’ve missed 4 pages? Dear lord.

Virtually everyone with a strong OHP uses a false grip… if I remember correctly, Matty broke through a plateau by starting to grip it like that.
Okay, I wanna hear more. Yeah I’m just a wimpy bodybuilder, but my MP has been stalled in rather pathetic territory for some time. Why does this work?
This will sound bro-sciencey, but for me it a) promoted a better bar path, b) allowed my wrists/forearms/elbows to get more directly underneath the bar. I a) might be a direct effect of b).

Pretty sure Tate uses it because he tore both his pecs, not because he wants to.

I have read some articles by him that he may do it from the pec tears but he wishes he would have done it earlier in life. But Tate has also been one of those PL guys who still loved the BBing stuff also.

Also fuck straps, use chalk.

Chalk you can use at your meets, straps not so much.

Fixed it for ya, Joe

Solid pulls Matty, or should I say Mr Meme?

Typically I agree with you but with the way Matty flexes (I would too if I had guns like that) I think that a double overhand would work better for him because you physcially can’t flex your bicep in that position. I’m really thinking about minimizing the number of opportunities for injury. So if he pulls 40 times in a week with a mixed grip that’s 40 chances to pull a bicep but if he doesn’t use a mixed grip that drops down to zero. You can always to extra grip work but I don’t think that he’ll have grip problems. I would imagine at some point the habit of flexing would go away too.

LOL^^^^^^^^^HAHAHAHA!

Matty, everytime you would drop the wieght, the camera shook…felt like the whole building shook!

that’s just funny shit! srsly, tho - awesome pulling.
