Silee,

Please go away. From square one you kinda identified yourself as a douche-bag, and as a consequence nobody here really wants you polluting Matty’s log. None of us is the least bit intimidated or impressed by what you’re doing, and we’re pretty unanimous that we think you act like a child. If you want to make a ā€œnameā€ for yourself and earn a presence, this IS NOT THE WAY TO DO IT!

And, since you enjoy offering advice nobody asked for, I’ll give you some. If you reply to this, you only increase your douche-factor. Take the high road.

Walk away.

Matty, I apologize for coming unglued.[/quote]

I can see the child in you has her panties in a bunch lol… " we think"??? ā€œnameā€ the word name LOL Get off your high horse man… this is a public forum… If you don’t like what was said , don’t respond, but obviously it hit a nerve… If these logs where private one wouldn’t be-able to access them… you write them you open yourself up to criticism.
" intimidating" " impressed" I was neither trying to intimidate, nor impress any one on a web-site. If any thing its a place to practice trying to say what you think about training and its implications and that’s about it. But its never just that. It unnerves you and gets you thinking.

Silee I think the main thing you lack is etiquette. Whether these are public or private forums doesn’t matter much, the fact of the matter is that If I feel my opinion doesn’t matter in a log or forum, I wont put my opinion or comments in same. It seems as if you don’t get the hint. In no uncertain terms I was offended with your original post as it came (at least the part I could understand) as elitist and somewhat insulting. Over the net you come across as if you are talking down to people, we have some very seasoned and successful individuals on this site ( FTR I am not including myself) yet I dont think you realize it.

STARR 5x5 WEEK 5 DAY 1

SQUAT - 155/5, 195/5, 230/5, 270/5, 315/5 Fuck it did some singles 325/1 335/1

Bench felt like slop 305x5 were some serious grinders, at this point they shouldnt be this much problem, but at least I have a built in excuse…lol.

While I do think for the most part that these sorts of forums are open to comment from everyone it does seem like you are missing a salient point.

If everyone that takes part in any community thinks you are a dick then most likely it isn’t all of them thats wrong, it’s you.

What’re you weighing now? 305x5 is strong. STEVE KERR FOR 3!!!

Well, insults can be taken two ways, but hey if you think i broke rules here please by all means report me. But i suggest we put this behind us and deal with the subject matter. No harm intended by anything i said. You know the nature of these sites lend themselves to problems in communication. Plus I do love training related matter as I am sure you do so lets focus on that. so I put it to you.

Matty, nice work today, especially in thte condition you’re in ;). Hadn’t heard of Tate presses before, so thanks for those; I youtubed 'em, they look like form would be real important to get much out of them, like kickbacks.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that (arguably) the most active/popular male thread in this forum has been chosen to be the beneficiary of supposed training wisdom. Kind of sad if you think about it.

p.s. Go Giants!

Joe - Exactly!

Flash - Whats up bro! Im still hovering at 240 now, my knicks suck donkey balls, we can actually use that ā€œscrubā€ Kerr!

Tyrfryer - Yeah its true man, a guy was doing them with me for the first time and he butchered the shit out of em!

PG - LETS GO GIANTS IS RIGHT…While more of a Jet fan I am super stoked for the Giants, should be an awesome game.

I saw a sled on Rogue Fitness for $95 that looks really solid. I’m going to pick one of them up in the next handful of weeks. If you buy a cheap one (like I did) you’ll find that you end up breaking it.

OK cook that is what I was afraid of, Are using the sled as a conditioning or strength tool, I have been doing a lot of reading about it and basically the concensus is too much weight and you will be sapping your strength, whaddya think? once or twice a week is sufficient?

I went both ways and found that the sprints after a heavy deadlift or squat session worked well but it didn’t work well to do one before. I would definitely agree with the once or twice a week approach. In fact I’m leaning towards three different types of conditioning and rotating them through.

If you pull the sled on grass you really don’t need too much weight to make it taxing. Especially if the grass is tall or if there is a mix of tall and short so that the friction gets mixed up.

james

Or, Matty, you can double ā€œdaddy timeā€ with HIIT sled drag. Tie the kids’ snow sled to you weight belt. Strap on the belt, and drag the kids up the hill… run if you feel up to the challenge. Then ride down with them.

Repeat 'til vomit ensues.

maybe you could do a class, matty?
zumba? i totally vote for zumba. make sure you get lots of vids

James - I actually have a artificial turf football field that I plan on using…Im gonna go real light on the weight in the beginning, Its been really cold in NYC lately so I may start this weekend. If I dont get the Sled at least sprinting, or what I would call sprinting!

Kent - Ha and it might snow this weekend, killing two birds with one stone!

Alex - I will have you know that I have my Wii Zumba fitness in constant rotation at Home!

I do my sled sprints on a conditioning day because frankly I don’t think I could actually sprint, the way a sprint is intended, after doing legs.

For god’s sake warm up good or your groin will punish you.

I work up to a total 122lbs of sled weight and I end up looking like I’m running in place at the start.

You should have tons of fun with them though.
