x2 on the breathing point. “Forcefully exhaling” on an OHP means core pressure is going to go down and reduce stability. Should the main cue on an OHP be to drive the head foward as you approach the top of the lift, rather than breathing out? I mean, Matty OHP’s more than I do, so wtf do I know?

I know that when following a program, and there’s a book about it, it’s probably a good idea to buy it THEN follow it, rather than hoping everyone will give me their e-books for free.

good point on the breathing, you should never exhale during a rep on an excercise that requires huge effort and core stability. That air in the belly is what holds you tight. I have seen dudes collapse trying to squat because they lost their air.
Hey Pete a lot of screaming going on at PL meets during a lift? I would expect some before or after.
before or after, yeah.

we had some chick bencher come to our gym for help in her shirt a while back. she trained with some low level lifters that gave bad advice. each time she went for a max she would yell out, lose air, and the bar would start speeding to her face. could not break her of the habit, she thought it was showing her ‘rage’ or some shit. sounded like she was birthing a tasmanian devil, and every time she did it she missed the lift
Lol how did you avoid laughing?

When Matty wakes up he is going to be laughing his ass off about his log.

I already sent him notice on G+,

Ouch, mine runs an old, old program also. But I bring my laptop and hook up to network and run Google Chrome.

We got a lot of us over there Pete, you have been asked for repeatedly.

I wonder how much silee OHP’s. Virtually everyone with a strong OHP uses a false grip… if I remember correctly, Matty broke through a plateau by starting to grip it like that.

Matty can I count on you to support the Niners this weekend?

well, leaving work in a few minutes for a job interview, maybe I will ask them what kind of browsers their IT dept supports?

I will try to get on there this weekend, I think I set up an account back when we last talked about it. If things go right I might not have any computer time this weekend, at least if my wife does what I want:)

No doubt S C J!

Was the same for me SCJ, finally got that triple with 205 with the false grip.

Morning Matty, did you get enough sleep big guy?

Agreed. I’m not a good presser but my max started moving when I switched. Seems to allow the shoulders to move more naturally.

As the story goes if a zombie bites Matty, the zombie turns into Matty.

OK well WOW! I wish I could respond to you all…full O awesome!

I just awoke from my daily midday slumber, just finished my last set of pussy fat Kegel thrusts so hopefully that strengthens my pussy fat.

Silee I think there has to be a level of courtesy and respect when giving unsolicited advice on a lift that was performed almost 4 months ago. The fact of the matter is I didn’t ask for your advice, I take offense to your advice, the advice was mainly indecipherable and the advice that was understandable is generic stuff that is well well known at this point. You weren’t breaking new ground with the advice you told me.

I have built a relationship with everyone that has posted in my log after your incoherent advice post. If anyone of them critiqued my lift and was even harsh I would take it positively and well, because I know what they do seen their lifts and developed a mutual respect and like them…but who the fuck are you!? This is not because they may be stronger or weaker but about respect for one another in our quest to accomplish our strength and fitness goals.

How can I take advice seriously from you when you bump old logs and I have no knowledge of what your about? You start a 5/3/1 log (again we have about 3000 of these logs on here and once again breaking new ground your not) and dont even have knowledge of the program? Basically you state its a maximal strength routine, again a generic comment that doesn’t really delve into the crux or essence of the program.

I generally take the high road on the net because I like to be the same way as I would in person however If you really decided to give me advice in a real life setting I would think that you just finished a stack of Airplane Glue, Klonopin and Crack. I would also probably to tell you in no uncertain terms to fuck off as well.

So your comments are not welcome here I would ask that you do not post in my log any longer because I think your a major doucher.

One good thing did come about from your advice, Jim Wendler just tweeted that he is creating a new 5/3/1 for Banchiee training.

Thanks for the lulz. I’m going to go and try to tighten up my pussy fat…or something. Maybe I misunderstood. Is this like kegels?
Git I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time.

Matty, I am DEEPLY sorry I didn’t get a chance to hop on the train to smack down the cheese head before you went all “professional” and drained the stupid out of the discussion.

Okay, I wanna hear more. Yeah I’m just a wimpy bodybuilder, but my MP has been stalled in rather pathetic territory for some time. Why does this work?

Why yes it is.

For me it gave me a more stable base to press, felt less “pulling” in my wrists.

Has to do with keeping the elbows under the bar with putting the least amount of tension/lack of balance on the wrists. Now this is for a strict press the push jerk or push pres people use either grip.

I think we need to scream a lot during cardio too, burns more calories and tightens up our Fat Pussy muscles … according to what Silly says
