Who the hell is Dottie, anyway?

Its a favorite song of mine from a band called the Get up Kids, its also a quote from one of my favorite movies…Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

Stopping in to say hi. Nice work Matty.
I was wondering where you were at!
Just crazy busy. Work is balls out right now and wife is extremely tired all the time so I’ve got baby duty.

WEEK 4 STARR DAY 1 5X5 REDUX!

Kind of went too far today.

SQUAT - 155/5 190/5 225/5 265/5 305/5 315/3 335/2(last one was def too high)
ASSISTED PISTOLS - 6 EACH SIDE…yup after seeing masch do it I wanted to see if can at least do em assisted. Which I did, was pretty funny to watch me…no vids of that!

DECLINE SITUPS - 2X10

A1) FLAT BENCH - 155/5 185/5 225/5 260/5 295/5 315/3 275/5 225/15
A2) DB ROW - 80/15,15 100/12

CGBP - 225/10,10 (FEET ON BENCH)

B1) BB ROW (SUPINATED GRIP) - 125/5 155/5 185/5 215/5 245/5
B2) WEIGHTED PUSHUP - 45X4X12

BAND RESISTANCE CHINS - 0/10 WITH ORANGE BANDS 5,5,5,5 (NARROW GRIP AND SUPINATED GRIP)

FACE PULL - STACK/12,15 +25/15

TRI PULLDOWN VBAR HANDLE - STACK/20 +25/15,15

Notes: When I flat benched I asked not to get a lift off on the 315 set, and ironically it felt better, I felt more controlled, even though the J-hooks are placed at a level where I still kinda have to press it out of the hook I actually liked it sans a lift off. All of these presses were paused. The BB row with the supinated grip feels a shit ton better than the OH grip. I still will alternate grips as I still want to hit my upper back on these lifts. Overall, a good day, kind of went too far with the volume but I was feeling it today. Oh with the CGBP the feet on the bench allowed me to have more of a controlled tempo and it hit my tris better.

Mah new snazzy roller and my boy Reg Nice!

Reg is Chilling!!
foam roller is kind of baller

and that is a great session

I like the pistols and the squats and pressing

shit kind of the whole thing

nice work

Thanks brother, it felt good I finally had a decent sleep, its amazing what sleep can do…Reg nice approves of da roller! I actually got it at dicks it was on sale for 16 bucks!

Dang man, got volume? You cranked that ish to 12! Musta been something in the netz though, cause I was feeling real good after yesterday & went and did leg day early, flipped da script ya know. If I’da done half that volume I’d be in the morgue right now, lol.

Ha ha, yeah man, just went with it. Tomorrow Ill tone down the volume to 6 or 7…Just some Millies and Front Squats and some DB benchin

Yes the roller is like a bitchy, slutty girlfriend. So painful to live with but sooooooo gooooooood!!! I make sweet, sweet love to mine daily.

As for your elbow/bicep pain… I recommend grabbing a rolling pin, stick it into the slot in an open doorway, and then roll the offending bicep and elbow. And I’ll also second shelling out the bucks for some Graston and ART. Graston is not like a bitchy, slutty girlfried. Graston is like 300 lb angry gay biker rapist. With no lube.

Cha!

YIKES!

graston freaks me out.

you really have to get vids of your assisted pistols. pretty pretty please?? i remember first time i tried them lol. mine don’t look much better even with practice, though :frowning:

Lol! YES!!!

And no matter how you do them, those pistols are damn hard! I mean, it took me almost 2 months to get where I did with those (and that’s just my good leg). Aside from looking badass though, I’m not sure if pistols act as any kind of accessory for the big lifts - they are totally tied to rehab in my head though, so who knows.

Reg Nice! So cute!!

And yeah, you gotta make sweet, sweet love to that roller… puts on Isley Brothers

Good luck with that tendon pain

Keep killin’ it, bro!

Stopped by because I seent Patriots in the avi… looked at teh training and was going to say you are a strong mofo on overhead pressing… but then read this:

…and am just confused

EDIT: Your foam roller and dog are still both pretty awesome

Strangely enough getting a lift off on rep work always throws me off so I never do it.

Your pressing strength always im-Presses…

So for next time, vids of the pistol squats and can you also vid you sticking a rolling pin into an open door and then rubbing your bicep up and down on it…actually, make it a ani gif so we can give it to someone who loses an avi bet.

Go Pats!

Ouch…

Solid work Matty.

I’ll be following along to see how you cure your elbow pain. I’m giving myself elbow massages and laying off the fat grip pull ups for a bit and see if that helps at all. Does it getting into squat position?

Matty you forgot my pictures of my Graston to my shoulder, I have had the elbows done also with acupuncture.

Strong lifting broseph.

Alexus - Ummm give me a few weeks so I dont look like a total asshat, and you will get them thar vids!

Masch - My new roller is begging for mercy she cant take all the action shes getting! I just wanted to see if I could do those pistols at all. At first I tried them unassisted and my legs basically told me to fuck off. Could this movement be leg hypertrophy movement at all? My glutes and Hammies have gained some size but my quads are really sad.

Bigmac - Pee Wees Big Adventure is a fucking classic, if you havent seen it, I suggest you, preferably high as a kite. Also regarding the Avi, I hate the Pats the only other team I hate as much as them are the fish, I lost a bet to SJC on here so I have to have this Avi up for 30 days, I must say SJC could of been a lot harsher for this I thank him. Im a die hard Jet BTW.

Joe - I guess for me as well, in a way it seems as if when I unrack the weight myself it gets me ready for the weight I suppose.

Todd - LOL! I cannot believe I actually want to Pats to win as well. Im imagining myself rolling my bicep with a rolling pin an open door and I am gonna leave that one alone!

James - Other than some heat packs and rolling I think Im just gonna deal with it. I may lay off the Wide grip pullups for a while as that really messes with them.

DJ - I havent forgot about that thats why that graston shit aint happening!

SJC - Thanks Bro Montana!
