^^^^^Derek, that is not necessarily a bad thing.
No Home Depot? Good lord I love that place. It sure as hell beats paying some numbskull to fix my drywall, plumbing, floor, etc. Big believe in DIY.
I know but with my shoulder fubar’d, no longer can do the big bench etc.
Sigh. With my long arms and thin chest, I would just kill to have a problem like that. But I see your point - if things are too easy, you don’t have an incentive to get it right.
My Sheiko routine had me benching 3 times a week - which turned out a good thing, all that practice got my form better.

Sorry Matty, didn’t mean to hijack.
Everyone posts in Matty’s log, he doesnt mind.
When I say benching 3-4 times a week, I mean Heavy and every week. When you are a young lifter its very easy to fall into doing what you do well a lot.
I also was a football player, nobody ever taught us how to lift in the 80’s. It was get under the bar and just do it. When I started back in my early 20’s I had a little better form, but did not lift with PL guys at the gym. It was me and my room mate and friend that went to the same HS. Now 20 years later I am dealing with impingement and tendon tears that need surgery.

I would still keep it in as an ME lift. Main reason I haven’t is because most of my training partners are too stiff and ugly to get down to the floor, so we tend to pick board variations. I am committed to making some do floor presses with me now.
And wait, you ORDERED a two board? I know you are a New Yorker and all, but don’t you have access to a piece of lumber, a saw, and some screws or nails???
Hold up what is this lumber and nails you speak of???

A few years ago I had to guide Roger from AF on how to start a grill over the phone… you guys are useless when it comes to some of this shit I swear. Does Home Depot not exist out there?
I hope you took away his man card. How can you not know how to light a grill?
^^^ One of the main reasons why in those 'programs" the power clean/hang clean are in there as much as the bench, just that as kids/adults we only do the bench portion…

Yep, I always hated cleans, cause I was not good at them.
Now I do mostly cleans, hell that was my whole workout today. I very rarely do chest work now. Someday I will get back to it and balance out.
I love this shit, please post away, hijack all you want, Im sure at some point I did it your logs as well.
Home depot gives me the shakes, sweats and vertigo…NO THANK YOU!!!
Man I didnt lift at all in HS, and in my 20s I was an admitted brotard, but I just didnt know any better…the effort was there but intelligence and lack of access to experienced lifters was not available. I benched like 5 days a week all with the worst form imaginable!
I’ve heard of phobias for height, darkness, snakes, water . . . but Home Depot??? We gotta get you to a specialist!
I keep benching, hoping my chest will eventually thicken and make the distance less and thus easier. Anyone with that experience? Or did all you genius benchers have a thick chest all your life?

Have you tried shortening your arms? ;)
Yeah, but the pools of blood and severed tendons were something of a turnoff.
I was just curious if some guys are lucky to be born with a sky high chest or if that develops with training.
Derek, your arms honestly don’t look all that short to me. Or is your avatar misleading?

Misleading cause I get in comp position pressing on floor press and it will hit my chest.
Have to wear size 50 short jackets and still long on my arms.
