IIFYM vs Clean Eating

This has got to be the most confusing topic in fitness community so just wanna hear everyones opinion. And before anyone says “IIFYM should be done with mostly clean foods” thats not what im talking about. Im talking about lets say perfectly filling ur macros with pizza, protein shakes and micros with multivitamins vs boiled chicken and steak and vegetavles with some rice and stuff. Does insulin resistance play a role here or what?

Role in what?

In the way the body responds to either diet.

The source of your macros matters far less than the macros themselves. That said, if you have BBer-aspirational macros, the amount of room for stuff like pizza will be pretty minimal.

As an aside, vitamins are more accurately categorized as micronutrients–that is to say, they’re ‘micros,’ not macros.

Yes thats what i said.

Those tend to have poor absorption properties.

Eating a bunch of pizza and taking a multi is eating like a child, and will achieve childish results.

Try it and see if it works. Some guys cough @flipcollar cough, get outstanding results with processed foods. Others eat more boring foods.

lolz. I do eat like a child, as evidenced by the colorful, whimsical characters on the boxes of cereal I eat in the morning. I’m pretty sure almost everything I eat is marketed to humans under the age of 12.

I’ll also agree with the ‘will achieve childish results’ part. Unless you’re me. I’ve literally never met another person who can get the kind of results I do by eating what I eat.

Side note: I went on a 1 week diet last week to try to make my water cut this week easier. All I changed was switching regular sodas to diet sodas, and note eating chips, candy and cookies at my desk throughout the day. I lost about 3 lbs in 7 days. I realized, after reading the labels of those foods and coming up with a rough estimate of how much of that stuff I was eating, that I eliminated around 800-1300 calories per day.

Anyone I’ve ever known that’s over the age of 25 that eats like crap and is ripped/strong they work out regularly and with great intensity. I think you are actually just outworking a bad diet haha (genetics aside)!
