sorry to bust in here Molly-but i had to ask Chimera about the Warrior Dash: how’d you like it? i heard about this recently and there is one in my neck of the woods in October…i’m thinking it would be a hoot…

I loved it and would highly recommend it! I wish there had been even MOAR obstacles, but the whole event was really well organized. There was a lot of camaraderie amongst the people there (a very high number of which were crossfitters, interestingly enough) and my heat (of about 500 people!) actually got lost somehow and ended up running an extra couple miles, but I had a really good time regardless. Loved the mud (and the free beer) - don’t forget the sunscreen!

It also ignited my desire to do bizarre obstacle-filled races as a side hobby. I’ve decided that after my PL comp in September, I want to set my sights on the Tough Guy race: http://www.toughguy.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8&Itemid=4

Chimera - I do interact directly AND I am behind the scenes as well! I answer tons of questions on there and I also help make major decisions about everything business-wise with Red Point too!

Masch - I know it sounds crazy! Thats why I wanted to try it for myself! Oh yeah, and the guy is Michael… he is my friend, my boyfriend’s BEST friend, a trainer and a moderator on our site. He also competes in raw powerlifting and he is ridiculously strong. And an “Aw shucks!” Southern accent too! You can see him in action here:

Umm… OK… so I am NOT dead! I promise! Just worked a TON this weekend! Yeah Mikey (the guy in the video) is definitely a stud! The ladies love him! He is kinda like my brother though… =D

So workout have been good… definitely getting much much much more stable in all my exercises! I still have to watch my knees in the mirror to make sure they track properly… but that’s ok! I will prob have to do that for a while! Sarah and I are supposed to go see Mike again in less than 2 weeks! I am excited! He will see how we have improved and give us more pointers on how to keep improving! YAY!

I workout again tomorrow… should be a good one! Still trying to get my glutes to activate a lot… but MR says that prob won’t b/c my lumbar curve is not fixed yet… Oh well… gotta keep it up! I can’t WAIT to throw heavy shit around again!

Thanks Betty! I am very confident in the product and can’t wait to see what it grows into! And yes… It definitely feels like I gave birth to something! But I have “only” been working on it for 3 1/2 years… my boyfriend has been working on it for like 8 or 9! I can only imagine how he feels about it!

I worked out last night… went pretty well. My first exercise was squats and I am doing a 3x10 setxrep scheme. Since I am ridiculously focused on my form, and have a 301 tempo (3 seconds down, 0 in the hole, 1 second up) I have to go LIGHT! The 3 seconds down is TORTURE! Plus it’s super-setted with an upper body exercise… so I definitely have to lighten it up.

WELL… there was this HUGE douche at the gym who gets on my nerves SO BADLY… he was “squatting” and overhead pressing. Kudos on the compound movements… but to call his squat a quarter squat would have been generous. Well he was taking up my favorite rack and the others were taken as well…

so I asked him if he was done with the outside of the rack where he had been “bopping up and down” with 135… I didn’t say that… but I wanted to. He said yes, and started to take the 45’s off… and I couldn’t resist… so I said, “That’s ok… leave them on. I gotta warm up anyway…” ;D and proceeded to do a few ASS TO GRASS sets of 5 with 135… hahahahahah LOVE IT!

The rest of the workout went pretty well… I feel a lot more stable. I was supposed to end my workout with KB swings… but did TABATA instead as I was running out of time. HOLY SHIT! I forgot how much TABATA BW squats hurt!

I did 16 reps/16/15/15/14/14/13/13 for a total of 116 reps in 4 minutes… it was painful! Today my legs feel like JELLY! I am definitely going to add those in more often!

CLIFF NOTES:

  • been having to use wussy weights on squats b/c of tempo and form

  • made a douche at the gym feel like a douche after I ass-to-grassed what he was barely quarter squatting

  • feel more stable in my workouts

  • ran out of time so I ended my workout with TABATA body weight squats… OUCH! Did 116 squats in 4 minutes…

OWWWWWWWWW! My quads still hurtz! Hopefully they feel better tomorrow or I will be struggling! =-/
