I Want My Ephedra

After dieting for about four months, I have taken a break from using products with ephederine, norephedra, or whatever else they put in fat burners. I was living off of them while dieting. For the last four weeks, I’ve just used Powerdrive, and caffeine, from tea, before my workouts. I feel like my intensity is lacking, compared to when I used ECA products. Is this normal, or is my body suffering since it wants ephedra? Is it normal for me to be a little weaker, when not on the ECA stack? How long of a break should I take from it? Thanks!

Try DMAE/ St. johns wort/ and other neuro complex products…Don’t mix them with the ephedra just use them when you aren’t using the ephedra. You will like the increased focus you get…you may have to do a “loading phase” to get it in you, depending on what you get.

Definitely do not use St Johns Wort as a preworkout supplement. That’ll do the opposite of what you are striving for.

Ya, your CNS is used to being stimulated by the ephedra, and you’re having withdrawls. You may even become slightly depressed, but at least you’re still using coffee and Powerdrive. Not a great idea to quit ephedra cold turkey, you are better off weaning off of it slowly…like cutting to half your usual dosage for a week, then slowly eliminating it altogether. Good luck!

Princess, I second the motion to avoid St. John’s. Sounds like a Neurogain ad from hell. Your adrenals are probably shot…I just finished a lengthy phase of ECA and I tapered down from 3x/day to 2x/day for a week and 1x/day for a week, then took it only on workout days. I now use Power Drive, and I got some stuff to give the adrenals a boost such as B-complex w. extra pantothenic acid, Vit. C, and one in particular that I am especially fond of, Vinpocetine. Dosage-wise…100 mg. 3x/day on the B’s, 100 mg. 2x/day on the pantothenic acid, and use your own judgment on the C. Good luck!

there is some evidence st.johns wort contributes to a sence of well being. sounds like that might help. anyway to answer your question, NEVER. peace

Princess- I agree with the others about not taking St. John’s Wort- it works on me like a sedative. Also, you should cycle on and off ephedra products more often than once every four months. I like to go 4 weeks on and one or two weeks off. This seems to keep my metabolism off guard, thus making the supplementation more effective. Also, using too much and or taking ephedra for too long may be bad for the heart. Lastly, you should notice a pickup in your intensity and focus with in a week of being off ECA. Good luck.

I guess I should have tapered down my dosage! No one gave a definate answer about when I can start using it again? Does anyone know? I still “want” it, so maybe I should wait until I don’t crave it anymore?
