Hey Roman, you go to GT? I’ll be up there for a week in June for a conference. Damn, if there is a 1:3 ratio of girls to guys, that sucks! I was hoping to hook it up while I was there! We’ll be staying in the Olympic dorms. That is at GT, right? Or is it UGA?
A Girl, I like a girl with strong, muscular arms. Not too cut, but with some shape and hardness. I have a few friends with nice arms, and I love to grab them or get them to show me their guns! Broad shoulders aren’t a turn on. But I don’t mind a girl who has some shape in her chest, like the line down the center.
And what is all this talk about saying that it doesn’t matter what the girl looks like? You guys are now taking the “sensitive” side?? What’s up with that? Okay, the question was what we like. It didn’t say, what do all women have to look like in order to be “mate” worthy! Sure, we can all say what we would like women to look like, but it doesn’t mean that this is how it has to be! I have yet to date someone that is anything like what I’ve described. I don’t have to have that, it’s an ideal.
And something else I’ve noticed is that the girls with the hardbodies date guys who are the same. When I attended UF, all the athletes dated each other. Gymnasts would date football players, track and field people dated each other, etc. So people tend to be attracted to those who are like them.
I always wanted to date a gymnast or other athlete, but because I never played collegiate sports, I didn’t attract them! What can you do?
Okay, A Girl, here’s my $.02:
Legs - Long calves are a definite turn-off. I prefer a thin ankle and a taper up to solid, (upside down)heart shaped muscle. Thigh size isn’t so important as shape. It should be obvious that the muscle is there, but you shouldn’t be able to make out the individual quad muscles. I think the vastus medialus is a big determining factor in this aesthetic. If there’s no vastus showing, it’s a mark against. Here’s one detail that I find very appealing, though it’s difficult to describe without getting rather graphic. Looking at swim suit models with their legs together, there should be a little light showing through at the crotch. If it’s totally blocked (usually by fat), that’s another mark against. They usually hide this by turning or alternating legs.
Hips/butt - Shape is most important. Size is usually in contrast to the waist. Rounded is good, with that upside down heart shape again (from the back).
Midsection - Flat is a must. Can be somewhat defined, but if you can stick a quarter in there, you’ve definitely gone too far. A somewhat hourglass shape is best (avoid heavy side bends). A slight V-shape to the lats is good also, but no cobras.
Chest - Lots of variation here. Larger breasts are preferred, but I’ve also gone ga-ga over what many men would consider flat. The natural look is best. I read about different types of implants, where the implant was placed under the muscle, producing a more netural look. Don’t know how this affects exercise, though.
Shoulders/arms - When there’s no shape to the shoulder and it just blends into the arm, that’s a big mark against. Linda Hamilton in T-2 had a good look there. Not much size, but well shaped.
That about sums it up. Prefer no vascularity (or at least not much). With all that said, that’s just what I like visually, which I believe is what you were driving at with your question. There’s much more to attraction (in the larger sense), but the visual stuff is what initially gets the person’s attention.
Nate Dogg, Roman and I both attend GT. The Olympic dorms are actually taken up by Ga State which is right next to Tech. If you guys want we could meet up and cruise around Atlanta.
I’ve already stated my physical ideal below, but I wanted to add that attitude really counts for a lot. I really dig a female that takes lifting weights seriously. E.g., a rather plain girl who is doing lat pulldowns to exhaustion can be quite sexy just because of the attitude–it has a lot to do with competitiveness and intensity (willingness to sweat is good!). Otoh, a real hardbody girl doing a leg adduction machine at the gym while gabbing away on a cell phone is a definite turnoff. As another example, a girl who will toss a softball or football and do her best is sexy; one who will want to avoid looking silly or who doesn’t want to damage her nails is a turnoff, even if the body is perfect.
John U. - Couldn’t help but respond to your posts concerning what the average woman wants. While I can’t speak for ALL since it is a matter of individual presence I can speak for a majority of them as well as others of all ages and sexes. So this average, non T-vixen woman is going to give it to you straight out. I’m not trying to personally attack anyone here I’m just giving you some thoughts from another side. If your building muscle to attract women it’s not going to work around here. Most people find the look repulsive and I’m not just talking about women. Two very good friends of mine lift and when they come over, my 8 year old niece is sometimes here and they’ll flex for her just to irk her a bit. Her response when they do this is “Eww how gross, that is digusting looking!”
John I think bodybuilding building is fine if it is used for competing on stage. I do find the contests as “fun” to watch and that’s it. Never went home and fantasized. The contests are more of a “carnival” to me. Sorry, that’s how I feel.
Anyway John you seem like such an intelligent person who many women will find attractive if you give them the chance to get to know you. There is nothing more sexy than a man who knows who he is and what he wants and isn’t afraid to go out and accomplish it; a man who has his priorities in order. Success and intelligence and sensitivity are to me, more powerful than muscle. In the looks department the ideal man that not many women can resist is one that steps out of a GQ magazine (women will settle for less). Now if you want a few famous names I’ll tell you Brad Pitt for one is NOT someone I consider sexy. Val Kilmer is sexy and Ricky Martin, well Rick Martin has it all; the whole package.
Every woman should do sprints and jumping
plyometrics. These do an incredible job of
developing ass and legs w/o making them “too
big.” The most incredible ass I’d ever seen
(in person) belonged to a girl who was trying
out for the US olympic pole vaulting (no pun
intended) team, who trained at the gym I used
to go to. She did a lot of sprinting and
jumping plyometrics in addition to the
typical lunges, squats etc. Mmmm … wish I
still went to that gym…
Another thing that’s very important is
proportion. How big is “too big” or how lean
is “too lean” depends on height, body size,
and personality - the overall “look.” For
example, to me, a woman who is 5’2" doesn’t
look right with “D’s” and a woman who is 6’
doesn’t look right if she is skinny and
has “A’s.” That concept applies to all other
bodyparts as well.
So intensity is sexy? I’ve had guys (and gals) tell me it makes me seem kind of unapproachable. I had one guy say “I"m glad you finally talked to me, I wasn’t going to say anything to you first,I was afraid you might kick my ass” Don’t get me wrong,I’m strong, but I’m not that big, 5’6 135# 13%BF never done AS,and he was a huge black guy, 6’4 about 250lbs (it made me laugh).I do kind of attack the weights, but I never thought it was attractive to guys, its just me. Dystopiate has it right-for women and men.
Kandi…Glad to have you respond! Your point about the muscle building to attract women concurs with my thoughts on the issue. My female friends have told me the same as well. I don’t train with weights to get noticed by women and neither do I do it for competition. I too find competitions just “fun” to watch. So why do I do it? I cannot be completely really sure but it seems that it just fills a part of my life that was missing. When I started I became more confident, had less stress, got better grades in school, and became more aware of my health. It’s still the same way but now it is more like a project. I have always liked tinkering with things, engineering circuits and small structures for models. Even as a young child I was a Lego and puzzle fanatic. So I guess I would call it body engineering instead of bodybuilding. It’s just a pleasure to see the works that you create and develop come to life in the finished product, like a mother who looks upon her newborn child for the first time. The outcome may not be perfect or what I would expect but it is the fact that I accomplished it through my own hard work. I gain more knowledge from the experience and I say to myself, “I can do it better next time!” Life is no different, I know what I want and I do it. If it doesn’t work out the first time, I do it again, and again, until I get it right. It makes no difference what people think of me as long as I give them reason to respect me and I do the same for everyone else. Though I have met women that I’ve enjoyed talking to, I was not physically attracted to them. I believe many guys have experienced this. The way a person’s condition is physically usually reflects their lifestyle and how they take care of themselves. So it may not be everything and it may seem superficial but I’m generally not interested in a relationship if that is the case. There have been exceptions but looking back I thought those women were above me. Realizing now that they were not, I want to kick myself. Either way I know it will work out in the end. I thank you for your kind words Kandi and wish you the best also! BTW, how are the horses?
A Girl…I’m not sure that intensity makes a girl unapproachable. It is definitely a turn on. I think that most guys are nervous around women they are attracted to and this just gives them another reason to be. Intimidation is pretty powerful among the sexes.
A Girl- you sound HOTT! Intensity is very attractive to me-EVERYONE should have a PASSION in life. There are too many people who let life happen to them, don’t give 110%,& will always be happy with mediocore results-in the gym & in life.Where do you W/O- we should hook-up!
Thanks John. You seem to have your priorities in order and I’m sure you already know the answers to your own questions. Of course it’s always nice having a little reassurance!
My horse in particular is great! Thanks for asking. Will be using John B. post-work formula soon. Will most likely have to manipulate the sugar dosage though unless I can be sure it will be used before it reach's the large intestine. If this were to happen I'd be in trouble. Not good at all.
Kandi
If your neck is thicker than mine and your voice is lower than mine, then you’re to fucking big. I don’t think naturally trained women (without a hormone imbalance) can get to big. I suppose I can be wrong.
Maybe this is a naieve question, but has anyone seen a woman get ‘too big’ without help? I am by no means small, and I can move a decent amount of weight, but I haven’t gotten much bigger even as my weights have gone up. Honestly, I’d like bigger arms and shoulders, but they are only getting stronger…no matter what I have done recently. (There is no chance of me ever taking anything, I have extreme needle phobia and am not interested in popping more pills.) There was a pic of some champion woman lifter (I think from Canada) on T-mag not too long ago, and her arms don’t look that much bigger than mine (though I am WAY weaker!) Just my 2 cents, but I really don’t think it is possible for most women to get ‘too big’ - i think ‘too ripped’ is a definate possibility though.
I say do what I did. I didn’t play sports in college either, but I started kickboxing and doing ju jitsu for fun and suddenly athletic women were interested. I dated a volleyball player who’s two inches taller than me(I’m 5’10)who was intrigued because I’m an “athlete” but I played something different than the other guys she knew.
As for physique, look like a woman. I like fitness women mostly and I think Lisa Lowe, Timea Marjova and Michelle Bellini look great!
i’ve always been able to appreciate each individual woman for her best physical attributes, especially well developed muscles. I love muscular woman, but most my buddies don’t. They think i’m nuts, but i don’t give a shit what they think. Muscle elegance is an awesome magazine that shows the muscular female physique in its raw state, a beautiful thang!!! Check it out, it does the trick for me. As for you, Ms. T-Thang, do what pleases you, and believe me, there are plenty of guys who will appreciate your hard work and results!!!
