I Wanna Know

Hi A Girl. I think guys are pretty much divided on the “best-look” issue. I’ll give you an example: The other day at work, this incredibly cut girl came into the gym. She was flashing her 6-pack and was generally sliced up. Some of us went ga-ga, the others thought she was too cut (personally, I was one of the mesmerized). But here’s the kicker: those of us who thought she was hot nearly had to take a “bathroom break” when she went to the free-weights and started hitting them hard. The guys who didn’t like the look thought that she should stick to more “feminine” exercises. Seems like BS to me, but what I’m getting at is that a body is more than a shell, it exudes an attitude. You are your body and you wear your body everywhere you go. By coming in looking like that, she might as well’ve had “hardcore” tatooed across her chest. When she hit the iron with a vengence, she proved that her look wasn’t a pose, a lie, a…well, call it what you will. My opinion: let your body reflect what you want it to and most people will respond, even if subconsciously, by viewing you in the light of your body. Curvier is more motherly, coddling, etc. Harder is, well, harder.

Interesting that you should ask that! We know a stripper who’s also a bodybuilder who often comes off as more scary than sexy during her really lean steroid phases (she walks like apanther and glares like Danzig). So I think that it can get too far (although she did like my “Testosterone” shirt). I personally like the lean physique, more like Angel Veil rather than Grace Jones.

If your JUICING-it’s too big

O.k people. I’ve met a couple of the “big” girls. Joanne Lauren (Chyna of WWF) before she lost all that size, and after. I must say that before, she was scary. She worked out with weights that chased most of the men from the gym. Now, she looks great! Smaller, more feminine. I don’t know if surgery or drugs were EVER involved (she says no, but…) she looks better now.

Thanks for all the responses guys,it’s interesting that the general consensus seems to be softer abs and more muscular legs.Very few “normal” women I know want bigger legs unless they are real toothpicks. Once they get some muscle and size to their legs, they freak out and spend hours on cardio- an impulse I have given in to myself, maybe it’s because all the models have skinny legs, or because it’s the first place to gain fat and the last to go. I didn’t realize that alot of you like big (not fat) legs! What about the upper body? not breasts, but shoulders, arms ,pecs, back?

I thought I’d chime in on this bad boy. I think there’s often a fine line between what guys like and what they don’t. Of course, A Girl, as you mention, there’s just some chicas that are downright scary…and that, my friends, just does not float my boat. However, I am turned on simply by the fact that a female bodybuilds. Any girl can get her booty on the treadmill or elliptical trainer or even on some lame ass machine simply going through the motions. But it takes a special type of woman to bust her ass in the free weight section of the gym. I’m not saying that I find the girl that grunts, moans and intimidates like that goon bouncing the barbell of his chest the attractive type.
To answer the question, I too belong to the camp that likes a woman who’s not bulky for lack of a better term. Women who look blocky just don’t do it. To answer the more recent inquiry, I think real broad shoulders are a no-go. Pecs…well, big is always an option, but I think firm and they’ll poke your eye appearance is just as enticing. Basically, I think the consensus of how the fitness chicas look in the off-season is what works for me. They’re fit and good-looking for sure, but they’re not super cut or gaudy looking, they’re just downright pleasing to look at. A nice tight but smooth look is the way to go.

Infinty, I have to agree with you. I didn’t realize that Chyna had lost weight but I saw her about one month ago when she was working out at the gym I go to. I didn’t recognize her at first but when I did I was suprised because she actually looked pretty damn hot. A Girl I got to thinking about your question a bit more and reading everyone’s responses I can’t help but think - Fuck 'em. I will have whatever kind of body I want. As long as you like yourself, anyone that likes you will like you for who you really are. Not who you think they want you to be.

cut like a bodybuilder is cool - bulked like a hammer thrower is not. If you’re gonna get big muscles, keep your bodyfat levels low too.

infinity, has chyna done drugs? duh! of course she has, and despite all her plastic surgery she still looks like a man, plus she has the voice of a transsexual…she’s definitely not sexy.

Dont forget to emphasize the rear end of your legs/lower body!! yes, get yourself a female sprinters ass!! As for the upper body… If you ask people around the world which gender has a muscular upper body the answer would be males. I do think you have to be muscular (with some fat) enough to ‘hide’ your joints. NO skeletal backs plz! Balanced development very important. I think the ‘quad rule’ generally holds true: no multiple heads or striations !!

I started thinking more about this and I don’t believe that a man’s opinion matters all that much. Men are generally forgiving of the little details. Women on the other hand are not and it’s been my experience that women have not only a much greater variety of tastes but also look for very specific qualities in men. They can be very cruel if you don’t have what they’re looking for, especially the college girls around here. Being a large muscular guy is a great feeling but not very good for getting women. I don’t know of any normal girls who actually like the bodybuilder-type physique, the only exception is if they body build themselves. It has to be the bane of every bodybuilder’s existence, unless they are homosexual. It seems the only people that appreciate the hard work it takes to build a more muscular body are guys who are envious of what you have. So I guess the real question are what women want in a man, speaking physically of course. We all know that women say they like men with a good sense of humor, intelligence, etc. but there is only so much you can do to change your nature and demeanor. It really pisses me off when women say this but are dating a guy who has absolutely no respect for them. I’ve seen it too many times so I don’t think this aspect should count in this instance.

John U, how “forgiving” women are depends on their environment. When they are outnumbered by men in a 1:3 ratio (as is the case at Georgia Tech) it is only natural they are gonna be extra picky. Even if you do have a girlfriend you end up pussy-whipped. I used to be really ticked off by it but after spending way too many years here I don’t really care most of the time. I don’t like the way most of them look anyway – what can you expect from a technical school? I know it is still tough, so hang in there, buddy!

Ok here’s the rule. If they pee standing up we’re going just a lil too far!

I’ll go with the Oak on this one: “It really doesn’t matter. I like them with black hair, with brown hair, with red hair, with big breasts, with little breasts… If their personality is great and if they’re charming…”

Roman, I know exactly what you mean. For the most part I don’t care anymore. My study time, eating, and training take up most of my time and very little is left for thrusting yourself into social settings. The girls may be extra picky here but they’re picky everywhere, I know. Most of the 21% girls here also are not getting technical degrees. Have you been by the Management building? I would say almost half the girls on campus are management majors. The exceptions are the engineering students who, as you say, don’t look all that appealing. If I was all that concerned about partying and women I would have went to UGA or FSU but I prefer to have the security of MY future. The fact still remains that, in general, men are easy and women are picky.

This might be the start of another thread, but I disagree that “normal” women don’t like big muscular guys. If this was true, you wouldn’t see pro bodybuilders, even the ones that look like apes, getting with such dope women. And girls might claim to like a more ripped Brad Pitt/men’s health type of physique, but very rarely will you hear a girl complain if her boyfriend is built like Arnold. Big guys who can’t get women usually suffer from obsessive bodybuilding lifestyle complex - don’t go out and party even on weekends, must intake protein every 2 hours, don’t go to places where women hang out. Or they have an extreme lack of social skills. Being a skinny little weasel can hurt your chances with women, but being big and buff can only help.

OK, now I feel like I’m being attacked. Rafael, when have you ever seen a pro-bodybuilder with a ‘normal’ woman? You don’t! As you suggested they are dope women meaning not your everyday gal. Most of these people get those women because they live in areas, like Venice Beach, where they are plentiful. These women are also attracted to these guys because they are usually fitness or bodybuilding girls as well. I didn’t say they weren’t out there, just that it is rare to see them. BTW, I do have a friend who is a bodybuilder and his girlfriend does think he is too big. At 5’10" 260lbs I would think it’s hard not to think he is a bit big. If I even hinted that I can’t get women, well that is just wrong. It’s not very hard to accomplish but finding the right woman who you are compatible with is. Finding an attractive woman who I can hold an intelligent conversation with is not easy. I’m not saying that women are not intelligent just that I don’t want to feel like I’m speaking down to them. I go to a technical school and it’s even hard here and most will tell you the same. If you think partying and clubbing will help, well again that is a mistake. I’ve had my share of that, actually too much, and can say it’s not the best way to get the kind of girl I want. Sure you can many women that way but I don’t want many, just one for me thanks. I guess you can call me an exception to the rule but I am a very picky guy. If that leaves me single for a while between girlfriends, then that is way it will be. Quality over quantity is my rule.

I’m not meaning to attack you at all. I think your only problem is your choice of school. Which is, as you say, for other reasons than meeting women. If you went to a school that was 1:1 girls/guys or better, I’m sure you’d find tons of cute girls. Technical schools are known for their busted, nerdy women. But I hardly think the reason pro bodybuilders get tons of poon is because there are lots of hot fitness girls in Venice Beach. Pro bodybuilders in New York have hot girlfriends too.

Most pros have groupies that follow them around. It’s not too hard to believe that the girls just come to them. They also have publicity and the small group that are interested in the hardcore know where to find them. I don’t compete so I have only really met a few of these people before and only at the gym or among the viewers of a competition.

Hey Chuck! You’re correct about that voice, an as for beauty, I was merely choosing a famous person for a before and after, but in afterthought, or in your thought, I could’ve chosen a better example. Sorry! I also met Timea Majorova (sp?) once, and I still have wood a year later!
