I am a Junior at CSU majoring in mechanical engineering. I really wanna graduate with a 3.5 GPA or above, but I don’t know how to study. Can you please take all the classes for me and graduate for me? Yeah, that would be super.
Just f’n with ya man. You have come to the right place. This is THE site for bodybuilding, nutrition, and anything related to fitness.
With that said, you have to start reading everything you can. Some of the nice people here will give you some pointers to start out, but it really comes down to you getting the knowledge and applying the knowledge you will need.
Oh yeah, and don’t ever say the “toning” word here again. Flaggelation is a common punishment for using that word here in the land of T.
Welcome
Jeff
A good place to start might be with some articles like:
The Seven Habits of Effective Nutrition
The T-Dawg Diet
I don’t have the links handy, but if you search for a beginners thread (or even read the thread pinned to the top of this forum which points to one) you’ll be on your way.
By the way, 210lbs, 18 yrs old, nice starting point…

For starters, work out roughly how many calories you are chowing down per day, log this and then work out if your weight is fluctuating or staying quite constant.
This may sound strange, but actually eating more and adding more muscle (corresponding to a decent training regime) can end up making you leaner after some time because the extra muscle tissue increases the amount of calories you burn.
You have to make the calories you do ingest count, so cleaning up your diet is the first step on the nutritional side.
Read up on healthy fat sources and the effect on insulin foods have and go from there, this will be a big help in understanding how your body responds to food.
Don’t get me wrong, aiming to lose weight (fat) by gaining muscle is somewhat of a strange method to go for, but certainly more metabolically active tissue (i.e not fat but muscle) will make you burn more calories, so ‘bulking’ with an adjustment in calories when required weight is reached can be beneficial.
