I need a new program!

First time poster, long time (16 years) lurker.

I am a (low level) bodybuilding coach myself and have a PT gym, I know how to train and have done a physique show in the past - not a claim to fame, just setting out where I am at.

I’ve been doing Ben Pakulski’s Mi40x program over the last year after being able to focus on my training after the bullshit lockdowns and other crap that’s happened.

I love the high volume high intensity training and want something similar, to pay for and follow - or something different, but structure is key for me. The last 6 months on his program (I know its mostly about how you apply the training alongside the format) have been nothing short of brilliant for me. Its just getting a little stale.

I am so out of the loop with whats out there - can someone please help an ageing trainee with something/somewhere I can pay for a training program that ticks those boxes please?

Thanks in advance.

I am a bit dosed up on morphine and tramadol as ive just had knee surgery today - 2 years waiting - stupid football.

Look into the RPHypertrophy app. You can tailor it to your needs. I’ve been using it for over a year now and love it. It will set up your progressions based on the feedback you give it.
They have stock programs or you can make a custom program. You can tailor any of them

I love everything John Meadows (Mountaindog) and am happy to recommend one of his 30 programs, if you’re interested.

Ive used RP for a while, I’m a little childish, I used to really like Dr Mike, but his recent stance on Ozempic has really put me off giving him my money now. I can’t give someone my cash if I question his ethics and morality. Its very clever though.

Then I would also suggest any of john meadows programs. He has about 20 on the mountain dog site to choose from.

Welcome to comment - I can take criticism.

If you want high intensity and volume I would go with Meadows as well.

I really like John Meadows programs! Lately I’ve been training more Golden Era style, I think following either Arnold’s progression through the different levels of training in the “Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding” or Frank Zane’s “91 Day Wonder Body” would be super fun and definitely fits my current approach/view to training and contains some structure to operate in!

What’s the point of this post?

To ask for some simple advice - you know, like forums are meant for. Honestly just weird.

Cheers Dave - having a look round Meadows’ site now, never really followed much of his stuff previously despite him being so popular.

Should you post your goals first of what you want achieve from the training advice?

High volume and structure…then he can follow Arnolds 6day a week beginning bodybuilding

I don’t really care who takes me seriously or not to be honest, I work an 80 hour week running my gym and coaching company. I’ve had coaches for the past 10 years - I don’t want a coach, I want a program to follow that I’ve not written. It’s quite simple. I don’t have the desire to stick on my own programs.

Lol - laters.

I have trained for 25 years, competed for 15, and I learned to NEVER coach myself.

A lot of folks are similar.

100%.

Exactly why I follow programs. I don’t want to think about it, I just want to execute. Totally valid.

I’ve run about a dozen of John’s programs to completion - if there’s some preferences you have, I’m happy to tell you which might be better fits.

Pakulski’s Mi40 is high volume and high intensity - like that style.

All his stuff is that. He used to have a “Reactive Pump Hypertrophy” on here (which was really his “Muscular Demolition” program. I liked it a lot because it still had a real focus on squat, bench, dead.

His base split is legs, chest/ shoulders, back, arms… and then any additional days for weak points. Does that interest you or would you prefer a PPL (which he also does).

I prefer the base bro split. I think his most popular program here is “Gamma Bomb,” and I’d highly recommend it - great balance of intensity and recovery.
