2 top sets on each. Cut out the Saturday workout, just Mon, Wed & Fridays now. Shoulders are my focus at themoment, hence the laterals and rear delts on both upper days.
Tweaked my lower back last week at work, so no deads or back squats on my lower day for the next week or two, still theres always a way to work around these things. Strength is going up weekly on my 4 main upper compound movements too. The extra recovery days are paying off.
Still training away every other day. Weighted dips and rows are my main focus at the mo, so every workout begins with those 2 movements. Ive dropped chins because i injured my left teres major 3 weeks ago, any vertical pull seems to irritate it. Ive also dropped benches, weighted dips are the only upper body pressing movement im doing now, my shoulders feel great for it.
Im finding if i preform slow eccentric only dips first on my warm up sets i can then press myself pain free.
Still salt in some laterals, curls, weighted hypers or some leg work on each workout. Also haven’t deadlifted in 3 weeks, much as i love them, they zap a lot of energy and resources for little in return.
Ill be 47 on Tuesday, been training since i was 14, and the older i get the more i realise (for me) that trying to be a jack of all trades and to push hard on everything at once ain’t gonna lead anywhere fruitful. To improve now…there has to be a focus on 1 or 2 things only, everything else gets put on maintenance mode.

Thank you so much peps…had a great wee break away for a couple of night. Drank too much jack and ate too much cake lol. But back to business as usual today.
Had a funny encounter with yet another one of these 20 something year old would be expert today online lol, its always “the bodybuilding literature” says or “the science” says, or heres “a meta analysis that debunks what your saying”…like its the ace of spades or something lol.
Frankly, poorly designed short term studies with fairly inexperienced subjects with overstated results doesnt interest me in the slightest. How about long term studies or studies with highly experienced sujects, and how about specifying what type of additional growth came from said traìning method or technique, i.e., was it merely artificial sarcoplasmic hypertrophy?? But i digress…
Its funny, people for thousands of years have looked to their elders and those with experience for wisdom and knowledge…but not now, oh no… not since goggle came on the scene. This is the same generation that also apparently dont know what a woman is and think we should just stop using oil overnight…because “the science” says so lol.
