cool vids, looks like u had some more gas in the tank too. my bench has increased by maintaining my elbows in and a closer grip.
Good job at the meet. That deadlift just flew up. Still love the singlet.
cool!
Ill bet the adrenaline rush was something else.
yeah vids!!
those lifts looked very nice.
and the singlet was NOT an eyesore on you.
so, is it official? are you a PL now. ![]()

Well I’m not sure that real powerlifts are quite ready to claim me but I’m doing another meet in May so we’ll see.
Sorry I’m late, but great work Joe! Your lifts looked strong, fast and smooth. And I don’t think the singlet looks shiny at all.
Great job on the comp Joe. Your lifts were really good and went up damn easy.
Joe, I’m happy to see you have crossed over to the sumo deadlift side. We can struggle with form issues together!

The company is always appreciated but you’ll get it squared away long before.
So anyway it appears I’m allowed to lift at Nationals and I’m wondering if I should do it or not.

The reasons to do it are it would be really, really fun and its a great validation of all your hard work in the gym. The only reasons not to do it are if time and money are in short supply. I hope you do it. I can live vicariously. ![]()
I shot off an email to see if there was space left so we’ll see.

Ran out of gas very quickly today. Not sure why but things tailed off quickly on everything.
Post meet fatigue - go lite for a few days…
I suspect you are right George, I’m not lifting over the weekend so I hope that takes care of it.

I should have gotten at LEAST eight reps on the oney set but I gassed out early. My top squat was ugly, I got out over my skies and didn’t get low enough. Felt like packing it in there but I got north of vag and finished my lifting. Glad its the weekend.
1x275
Great meet Joe. Thanks for posting videos again. By the time I got there, they were gone. You looked strong and confident.
The singlet was fine. Personally I’m not a fan of the shiny singlet so I avoid Titan and similar type ones. I get mine from Inzer. They are flat coloured.
Joe, nice work pushing through that training. Showing up and struggling through setbacks is more than half of this battle.

Generally I manage to push through bad days but it does suck at times.
So it looks like I’ll be doing the Mayfest meet on May 7th and then Nationals on June 16th.
Hopefully the five weeks will ive me the chance to dial in what I don’t hit in May.
Those meets are really close together. Why not pick one so you can schedule your training cycle to peak at meet time? Five weeks is not enough time to recover and make any additional gains.
Well, I guess you really enjoyed competing! Joe, that is so exciting. Do these meets involve alot of travel? If so, what a great opportunity for a vacation.
