Wow. You really look fancy, Joe. The singlet fits just fine.
I liked the singlet. I also thought your squats looked strong. The shoes kind of surprised me…personally I can’t squat in anything but no shoes or Chucks.

Ah yes, normally I don’t squat on Sat. so my routine got effed up and I forgot my Chucks and I could tell.
Are you going to wear your singlet into battle?
So, that battle looked kind of chaotic. How do you “win”? Are there rules about when you have to play dead? Can’t you just get up again even after being “killed” and go after the guy you got you? How do you know who is on your team and who is the “enemy”?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Okay seriously, you really want to know.
Okay here’s the basics. All weapons are a variant of one and one quarter inch or greater diameter ratten. The head, torso, arms and legs(above the knee) are legal targets.
A “good” blow to a limb, where “good” is a group wide standard of force, cause the loss of the limb. A “good” blow to the head or torso causes “death” and you drop where you stand.
In some battles you are slain and that is the end of the battle for you. In others you are allowed to walk back to a “resurection point” and after touching it to reenter the battle.
In general teams are done by “Kingdoms”/regions in wars. In the battle I posted the video of it was the Midwest and allies vs. the Northeast and allies.
Most battles are done until one side has been eliminated, each side being marked by a colored piece of tape on their helmets. Battles start out organized but rapidly turn to chaos with small unit tactics taking over.
Despite the armor and wooden weapons there is a very real danger of injury.
Solid squats.
And there’s far more dignity in a red singlet than a purple speedo!

I’m glad because I always thin I must look like an idiot.
Looking strong Joe. You look fine in the singlet. Better then I do for sure.
I keep thinking your dip gains must start slowing down soon, but they just keep going up and up and up!
Your squat depth and form is looking much improved.
Do you re-enact real battles from the past or is it made up stuff?
Nice work Joe.

I took a video of my shitty form 365 but some jackass sat right in front fo the camera after i set it up. Trust me the form was bad, bad enough that I’m thinking about hanging up deadlifts after this meet.
I have a couple of sumo vids to amuse you at least.
1x225
1x225 again
so how long have you been doing the SCA stuff. I’ve always wanted to play that, but never got around to it…

Since I was 17 so about 25 years. Christ I’m old. Though there were several 1-2 year breaks in that do to duty station and work stuff.
You should give it a shot, its a blast and you don’t have to get super into it to be a casual fighter. Check out a fighter practice and hit somebody. Its like MMA except you aren’t half nakedly humping someother dude.
not that this is bad…
Do you like deadlifting? If so, there is no reason to give them up. We just need to find you a way to train them differently if what you are doing now just isn’t working.
I thought your sumo form looked fine. Maybe you should focus on that after the meet? Yeah, don’t give up.
I know how you feel, though. I’ve felt that way about benching ever since I started powerlifting two years ago.
