I think you’ve reached a certain level of strength that it’s ok to feel this way. I mean, people can stop wherever they please, but you’ve deadlifted what, 600? I’d venture to say that any grown man could hit 400-500 and be strong enough for what he’d ever try to do, and anything above that comes with a substantial risk for injury.
I agree, my post is about young(er) guys who do this. I still see some dads come in who look the exact same, but I know they have jobs, families, etc. I don’t care. I just specifically meant people who were a few years ahead of me in high school and now have amounted to nothing, still coming in in their high school basketball camp cutoff t-shirts, and lifting the same amount of weight. I know they want to get stronger, but it means they can’t max out everytime, haha.
