"I Hate That Gym" Venting Thread

Yea man, that’s some old bullshit … no one worth their weight in iron would use that excuse. It’s either “yea man no problem” and proceed to speed the process up a bit by helping each other remove and add weight OR “I have 2 sets left … I’ll be done in a couple minutes if you don’t mind waiting” … clowns.

without safety equipment

@twojarslave as a tangent, how long have you been practicing?.

That’s not a solution a gym wants. The worst member for the gym is the person who turns up and trains regularly.

About 2.5 years now.

True, from a business standpoint. I would like to think gym exist for some reason other than corporate greed (at least for the commercial/franchise places) but I am not that naive.

I have wanted to open my own gym in the past, but I think my desire to have only active members would hinder my profits.

How was your initial/early sessions? I think you’re a couple years older than me and have been thinking of getting into it.

I was 37 when I started and if you’re interested I actually logged almost every class of my first two years on the mat.

It starts here.

So, you’re trying to get me to … READ???

How dare you, how absolutely dare you, sir.

That’s not your gym!

Nah, work had me traveling that week. Had to slum it. Was the first time I had benched with a barbell in YEARS. It felt weird.

That looks like it’d be an awesome home gym. Lots of space, high ceilings, cables, and a platform. It’s my dream…

I pay $33 a month for 24 hour fitness.
I pay $30 a month to use Iron Warrior Gym 2x a month (daily passes)
I also have a home gym which is pretty barebones.

Honestly there are 3 reasons I have a 24 hour fitness.

  1. When I travel there is usually one in a close enough distance
  2. The amenities - it’s nice to hit a pool, sauna, etc once in a while
  3. Yoga pants

I hate the 24 Hour Fitness near me. The managers and staff a buncha assholes, but my dad might start going there so I might drop in here and there to to show him what to do.

I usually don’t train when I travel. I was keeping an extra gym in DC for 20 a month, but they closed down.

The one by me is one of those “active” ones, so it’s cool cause it’s not that busy. It also has a sauna and steam room which is cool.

I don’t stress about training when traveling, but if I can get my hands on a barbell it always feels good!

Is that a fan I see?
And paint on the walls?
What happened to you man?

Better a bad workout than none.

I workout at home and think my home gym is pretty awesome. Still want more equipment but I have everything I need.

I also have a 24/7 membership I just use to tan sparingly, never worked out there. I’d love to find an awesome cheap gym with a bunch of hot chicks walking around :joy:

Women already find me undesirable, I don’t need to be reminded everytime I workout

Oh I’m right there with you, and I’m married. But it would give me something to work towards :joy:

Go to an SEC school. You’re welcome.
