Great work in here OG, especially those dips at bodyweight + 80. Very impressive.
Can’t quite make out what I’m looking at in your new avatar though.

Hi ho, Hi ho its off to work I go!
Peace
Hey the OlD Goat is shutting down the thread. Just wanted to thank everyone who stopped in and doubly thank everyone who took the time to post to it. Its been great fun over the past year plus and I have enjoyed following alot of your exploits. Lots of good people have posted here, lots of very strong people have posted here and I have learned from many of you.
To all who compete, best of luck with your events. May you be injury free and set multiple PR’s!
All the Best,
Peace
Meh? But I just got here!
Been 2 months since I stopped posting to my log so i thought I would drop in and say hello to everyone and let you know I am in deload, thats deload not detox! Although that might be in the future, who knows…I continue to watch many of you and post now and again. But the Minute Mrs Strick passes me, I quit!! shouldn’t be long!
I have continued with 6/4/2 ( the covert, super uber underworld version of 5/3/1)
BW is still a gangly ( Joe Good ref) 175… and for Snap my lifts look like this now:
CGB = 1.5142857
squat ( tap and go 13 inch box) = 1.4571428
Dead Sumo =2.0571428
MP=1.0285714
Other than that my life is like this log…about 4 times more boring than watching paint dry( i think I will have Canada K ghost write this for me)…work has been a grind x10. Ill update this drool at the end of the cycle. Peace
Finished another 6/4/2 cycle, heading into deload.
MP is up 5lbs to 180,
CGB is up 5lbs to 270
Squats to 13 inch box tap and go up 10lbs to 265
been doing Trap Bar deads to change it up worked up to 355 so far.
dips are up 20lbs to 125x4
Still tip the scales at massive 175lbs…which is just fine for me…no interest in gaining weight…anniversary #19 tomorrow and I haven’t a clue as to what to do…
Hope everyone is well.
Peace
Good to hear from you OG!
Congrats on the anniversary!
What George says. Way to go OG and congrats.
Ahem… this is The Goat. I am a cranky, gangly, muscle-head from Massachusetts… NOT a fabulous, body waxed Canadian wannabe powerlifter.
I’ve spent most of February working at a secret, undisclosed location in Boise, Iaho for James Cameron, as Mel Gibsons butt double. Apparently I had the right combination of perkiness and wrinkles to pass for Mel. Mel is, sadly, unable to portray his own ass due to overuse injuries and the unfortunate side-effects form his asshole transplant (the asshole rejected him).
March was very productive, training-wise. I was lucky enough to score a part-time coaching job working with the Laker Girls getting them ready for the upcoming season… we focused primarily on depth. It’s just so damned hard sticking to the diet when they keep insisting we do shots of Creme De Menthe from each others’ navels. I’ll have to focus on cleaning that up.
Otherwise it’s been pretty humdrum. I haven’t been posting much lately because I dropped my iPad into the jacuzzi when I was licking lime flavored bubbles from between Tyra Banks’ breasts, and I just got the damned thing repaired. There wasn’t a single decent Apple store to be found in Downtown Buenos Aries!
More later.
Good to hear that things are still moving and you are doing well.
What did you end up doing for the 19th?
Thanks George and JW!
Canada- still LMAO!!! but it was Cherry bubbles ( Tyra likes those better) not lime!! End of the next cycle I expect another fine offering!
Strick- Thanks brother, took the Mrs out to a local Tavern, nothing fancy but good food ( Prime Rib for me) and a couple of laughs…First time we had been out to eat without the kids in over 3 years. We take our kids everywhere; so it was a nice change. But being a Monday night pretty low key…
Hope everyone has multiple PR’s in April…
Peace
Sounds like a good time, OG. Time alone can be the biggest gift.
My wife and I are about the same. We get a evening out, alone, about once every 2 years.
Came across this brief writing and thought to share it here since this crowd seems to embody the meaning! Hope you all enjoy it and I hope everyone has a kick ass workout and weekend. Peace -OG
I AM UNBREAKABLE
By: Lucas G. Irwin
Most people donâ??t understand, but youâ??re ok with that. For you, training is not a hobby or a social activity; it is a way of life. Those around you say that you are obsessed, taking it too far and possibly insane. They canâ??t understand why you wonâ??t eat birthday cake, why you bring Tupperware full of chicken to a party or why you go to sleep early on a Friday to rest up for a Saturday training session. But you donâ??t care. Their accusatory tones, sarcastic remarks and insults are merely cotton bullets firing at a titanium wall of perseverance known as YOU.
You know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that any negativity that surrounds you is fueled purely by jealousy. Jealous that you are capable of unconditionally committing to something that most cannot stick to for more than a few weeks as part of their yearly resolution. Jealous that you gladly embrace a level of pain, discomfort and fatigue that others cringe at the idea of suffering a fraction of. Jealous that you take time to count carbs, protein, fats and calories while they count their chicken nuggets to make damn sure their 10 piece isnâ??t a 9 piece. In short, theyâ??re Jealous of YOU.
Ironically, all the comments, nagging and questioning that is meant to break you down a little, does just the opposite. Every negative word reminds you of how special and uncommon your mechanical allegiance to training really is, in turn, pushing you harder. So bring it on! Let them call you obsessed, crazy or insane and watch you get stronger with every word. The only one who can slow you down is yourself. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, you are both an immovable object and an unstoppable force
YOU ARE UNBREAKABLE.
P.S. I was so glad he picked on Chicken nuggets and not Budweiser…I would have cried!
Goat, I figured this out long ago. I AM insane. Next question.
And it does take careful explaining on why I don’t eat birthday cake. Or considering the business partner who invited me to dinner on a regular basis. It took a bit of delicacy on getting him to serve stuff I could eat (he cooks Italian). “You’re the pickiest eater I’ve ever known!”
Ssssh, be very, very quiet, I’m sneaking in the back door and will start posting my training again…Numbers are the same as when I left and still tip the scales at a massive 175… been working a gazillion hours lately so my workouts went sideways and I am just trying to hold on until the air clears ( ie no PR’s in the past two months)…not really following a program at the moment just getting the work done. And I have been following many many logs.
CGB day
10x185, 2x6x225, 2x3x245
Chest supported row
3x8x70 w/2 sec pause at the top
Inclince Tates
30x10, 35x10, 40x8
DB OH Ext
70x10, 75x8
Seated Cable Row
2x8x120 with 2 sec pause
pretty pedestrian but it is what it is…rack pulls and chins tomorrow
Peace
Sometimes you’ve just got to keep things level until you get past all the obsticles.
Nice CGB you got going there.
Great to have you back, OG!
You’ve been getting the work in. That is the biggest part. Do what you can, when you can and blast it, when those chances come along.
Right now, I am improving vicariously, through MrsS.
welcome back OG and nice avatar
I’m also slowly coming back
Thanks Joe and Strick
George- What Avatar? That’s me!!!(haha) And best to you and your comeback I am sure you will do great: just like before!
