Now I’m all good with cardio that comes in the form of a game. Its just boring old treadmill etc cardio that I can’t take.
If you check back a few pages in the old fart forum there is a thread on how to do GMs. Main points are stay tight, and make sure you are involving the whole pchain.
Thanks Pete!
Cycle 3 week 2 MP day
110x3, 125x3, 140x8 ( bad day for the goat) was looking for 10 and warm-up and work up sets felt really good and then Bam! No juice, no joy…get back after it next week…
dips: 3x10x45lbs, 1x10x55lbs, 1x8x55lbs…better than the MP’s
face pulls; 4x10x110lbs
tates:1x10x35 1x8x40
got home grabbed the slosh pipe and went 4x 75 yards, than 1.5 min overhead press and hold…still erked by the MP
Peace
Looks like strong work, OG. Especially the dips. MPs are funny that way, they usually surprise me–in both good and bad directions. They are a little like golf, in that you never know what to expect until you are on the course.
Belated howdy and welcome Mr. OldGoat.
MP’s are the finickiest, most tempermental lift in my opinion. Everything has to be right and correct up the whole body for them to be worked properly.
Nothing wrong with 8 reps of 140 at all.

I was thinking the same thing. Great lifting for an old goat.
DCA- Thanks for stopping by. You are so right about MP’s…back after them next week with better focus!
Joe, ECO - Thanks guys…appreciate it. next week is a shot at 150 for the money set…that I want to crush!
Peace
Catching up here and your lifting’s looking great. When you do your mps MPs are you elbows out in front or down low, more under the bar?
Hel- out front but down low making my forearm perpendicular to the floor…if that makes sense.
Cycle 3, week 2
Sumo Deads : 185/3, 220/3 245/13 …could I get an order of smelling salts, a large oxygen bottle and a beer? Old Goats should not be picking up heavy (for me) objects at 5am.
Snatch grip rack pulls: 3 x8x225, 2x5x225, 1x4x225…no more grip,
DB Hammer Curls: 2x8x35, 1x10x30
12 minutes bike…steady
pretty happy with the 245/13…
Peace
Nice deads,OG. At 5 am, just being out of bed is good!
Just out of curiosity (sorry if you have already explained), why do you prefer sumo to conventional?
Nice pulling, OG. And, yes, pulling in the A.M. sucks. I had to adapt to it, though, if I wanted to pull at all. Make sure you get completely warmed up and get the blood and synovial fluid moving before you pull heavy. The one and only time I cut my warm-up routine short to pull because of time constraints resulted in a lot of pain and rehab work.

Echo the “Nice Pullin’!” but high rep deads suck no matter what the hour is!
Thanks guys. appreciate the support!
Strick- Its not so much a preference. I went to sumo figuring its a little more hip/glute/ham dominate and seeing how poorly I squat I thought it might help. I could be all wet and there is no carryover, but I had to do something. I will head back to conventional in March.
JJack- I am up a full hour before my first warm-up pull and that is preceded by 6 minutes of cardio warm-up and 15 minutes of foam roller, mobility and stretching so I am hoping to avoid the triage unit!..But I appreciate the heads up as OldGoats need constant reminders…just ask my wife!
Dog- So true, so true!
Have a kick-ass day all
Peace

I’m jealous as hell with the snatch grip rack pulls… Great work!
Nice 5 am lifting. I just can’t do it that early. I’d rather lift at 10 pm. Sumo is the way to go if you lack mobitlity like I do.

Yes - lifting at 5 AM upsets the delicate balance of nature, causes inter species mating to occur and makes all the stoplights stay red. It is clearly and simply wrong.
Stop it now.
The stoplights are all green for me at 4 am. Go figure… must be an east coast thing

eco- I’m in bed at 9:30 counting pole dancers…sheep don’t do anything for goats!!
I tried counting pole dancers, but it made me dizzy! If they just wouldn’t spin around so much…
