I can hear it already, the groans and the moans from many members, but I ain’t gonna lie! The majority of the peoples goals on this site is quite simple…get as big and as strong as possible and gain as little fat as possible in doing so, right?
I’m currently 85kg (about 188 - 190lb’s) and am 6 foot 3, my goal is what it is, get to 220lb’s or 100kg with a body fat of 6 - 8% percent and I’ll have felt I’ve accomplished or reached my pinnacle in training, a lot of people will say that at that height, a bit more patience and a little more determination I could reach far greater goals than that but I personally and quite simply dont want to be that big, I’m not negative or arrogant about it I just don’t want to be huge!
I’m a great believer in that you can also look out of proportion when your too big.
Just thought I’d see if theres anyone else out there with the same ethos or goals and in the same mind frame about getting as big as possible.

Iâ¿¿m pretty sure your goals are similar to most of the users of T-Nation. Otherwise there would be more than one forums devoted to steroids.[/quote]
I’m not so sure I’d go along with that, sure look at NFL players, some of them boys are 6’3 - 6.8 and weigh upto 280 and while their bodyfat might not be as low as 6 - 8% its still pretty low for that size

I’m going to go out on a limb an suggest that you probably do not have the same kind of genetics that most NFL players have.

Well if you can get to 220lbs @ 6-8% bf, without following a strict ‘bodybuilder’ diet and training regeme, I will be bloody surprised.
Putting on muscle whilst losing fat, is the goal of every bodybuilder.
Ok so you may not want to be as overtly muscular as they do, but you’re going to have to work just as hard, and in exactly the same way, to achieve your goals.
For this, you will need patience and determination.
Personally, I don’t think that you will get there, if you keep the attitude that you’ve got currently.
Nice avatar BTW

Ha, your funny…how can you be so presumptious and say something like that, you don’t know my training regiment or the diet I follow, and now that i think about it you actually know nothing about me! Just because I feel that alot of people on the site are all about getting ‘jacked’ or as big as possible is merely an opinion.
I think for you to say that i won’t get to my goal without knowing my training details, previous weight, reasons for starting training, motivations, supplementation and a woile wealth of information is pretty silly of you!

Tis true, tis true I don’t but it was just an example of how big people can naturally get
Not to be a jerk or anything, but even if you WANTED to get HUGE it would take you a long time. You want to get up to 220 at 8% BF? Me too and itll probably take me over a year to get their if I stay disciplined…and I have 10lbs on you.
And good for you that you dont want to be huge, but honestly who cares? Why preach that you can be huge but you dont want to be so you are not going to train to get huge even though you believe you can? It reminds me of kids in HS saying if I trained harder I wouldve played D1 College Ball…
I’m not preaching at all, I just started a topic that I thought there may be a few others have something in common with and can reason with me or even argue with me But thats what a forums about my friend!
Why would you want to see photos? You’ll get mine when I hit my goal, and you’ll get the ones that i’ve ben taking tri monthly up to my goal, if you want to have an idea of my physique imagine yourself minus 10lb’s
It’s OK to have modest goals. Lots of us do. I don’t want to get so big that I can’t have a life outside of the kitchen, and with my metabolism that almost certainly will be under 100 kg.
As long as you don’t think that having modest goals makes it a good idea to make a half-assed effort…
I’m with you. I’m not going for that huge, bulky look. But like someone here already mentioned,
I think that’s already the goal of most T-Nation members.
Muscular, trim, and athletic. That’s where it’s at.
Hi, my name is Scott and I will be as large as my genetics allow me to go(I’m looking for a lean off season look of 250ish if someone wants numbers). I’d like people to know I’m a bodybuilder long before I take my shirt off or bring up training.

What the hell does that even mean?
If you don’t want to get big, it’s not going to happen. Don’t flatter yourself into thinking that you will surpass your goals on accident. You have to want to be big to get big.
You guys sound like a bunch of women. “I want to lift, but I don’t want to bulk up”.
If those are your goals, good for you. But I see no reason for this post, other than you’re trying to stir up the kind of argument that’s been done to death here.
Why didn’t you just say the typical bodybuilder’s training is nonfunctional?

Well you see thats just it, speaking for myself and myself only, I hate that macho crap! I never said that its easy to get big, I’m not that stupid, I know how difficult it is and have the utmost respect for someone who can achieve a massive physique…if thats what they want, that however isn’t what I want, that don’t mean I’m saying its easy to put on muscle, shit, whats wrong with wanting to get to a weight that could be short of the maximum your body allows it to go and maintaining?
Worrying about getting “too big” before you’ve reached “big” is the same logic some women use to avoid weight training in the first place.
Flawed at best.
What’s next?
"I’m not gonna lie, I don’t like the idea of the government taking so much of my money. I mean it’s not my fault that I work hard and am successful, everyone else should just work harder, right?
So, anyone know where I can get a job? Rent’s due and people are starting to notice that I’ve stopped bathing in order to conserve water."
Also, justifying yourself to people that have neither questioned nor criticised you (the first paragraph of your original post) makes you sound insecure. That may not be the case but it’s how it comes across.
As for your goal, do you know what you would look like if you reached those stats? How can you be sure that you wouldn’t have any weaknesses?
