Actually, many straight men are afraid of being hit on by homosexuals. I’m straight, and have been approached by gay dudes in the past. I dealt with them like I would with any female I didn’t want to hook up with: a simple “thanks, but no thanks”.

Homophobia is when a hetero guy assumes that every gay guy they encounter is hopelessly attracted to them. Which is like saying you’re the star of a gay Lynx advert.

There’s that inherent fear of being attractive to your own sex.

Roybot, you should milk a few free drinks first, before you say, “thanks, but no thanks.” Its not that often a straight guy gets to enjoy “hot chick” benefits like free drinks.

Agreed. I used to do this all the time at a bar in SF called Marlena’s on Hayes Street between Octavia and Gough. If you ever find yourself in the area I highly recommend the place, if you’re into getting drunk with a bunch of trannies and homes, which I used to be into just a little.

It didn’t happen very often and it was usually through a female wingman (wingwoman?). Plus I’m a real man and buy my own drinks. Huzzah! necks yard of ale

I guess. I’ve had some that follow me around at gyms. Some are cool, some are not. Pretty much like everyone. Never been “afraid.”

But regardless, that’s not how the word is used. Liberals use “homophobe” to describe anyone who dislikes gays or disagrees that sodomy is OK.

That’s stupid; fear is not involved. “Phobia” means fear.

…becomes a fan of a team only after they have won a championship

  • sports a toupe
  • brags about cheating on wife or girlfriend
  • does not own up to a bet
  • refers to himself or any of his belongings as cute

The suffix ‘phobe’ originates from the Greek ‘phobos’; phobia is derived from the same root…

I actually agree with you. Not a huge fan of the word myself, not sure why I used it.

“People who discriminate and are prejudiced against homosexuals”. Happy?

(I could say I distrust people who make snap judgments about someone as a whole based on the use of a specific word or phrase, but I won’t, because I sometimes do it too. Hell, my dad used the term “blogo-sphere” the other day…if it was anybody else…)

I’m that guy, pissing in yer stalls.

Couple of reasons: I’ve been blessed and cursed with a ridiculously powerful urine stream. I could piss-blast a graffiti mural off a wall and still have enough left over to extinguish a brush fire. The spray-back from urinals is unacceptable - nobody likes a guy with a piss-stained wardrobe.

Second, I just like the room. And I like the fact that my penis is a reasonable distance from neighbouring, exposed penii.

Shit man, with name-dropping and active listening like that, you could work in a pre-owned Hyundai dealership.

I don’t trust a man who says that my deadlifting is “too loud” and that I’m gonna hurt my back.

Alright, it’s against my better judgement to even bother responding, but I’ll bite: who’s HoustonGuy?

I dont trust a man who…

played a sport for 11 years, even though he didn’t enjoy it.

You Americans dont know or understand football. You would of played 11 years without 1 minute of decent coaching. You prefer sports with lots of scoring… maybe the same reason why you like to drink soda by the litre and have a McDonalds on every corner.

Enjoy your soda, the man on the TV told you to do so.

Pity the fool.

Doesn’t consider his neighbors when buying a large loud dog, or a large loud vehicle.

You nailed it! I HATE when people say/write “honestly” before making their point. It’s even used in one of the lousy top 40 songs they play at my gym. I also get sick of “basically”.

… somone who

  • is a tattletale. Amazing how many adults do this. Obviously certain things need to be brought to someones attention, but going to your boss about a co-worker that was five minutes late one time is ridiculous.
  • cries. Obviously death of a friend, family memebr, etc is okay. However, crying after the watching the notebook, because kristen stewart cheated on her vampire boyfriend, or after stubbing your toe is unacceptable.
  • Is a liitle too hardcore into religion such as extreme mormon groups, pentacostal (sp?) christian where they speak in tongues, extremist muslim. Otherwise I don’t care.
  • anyone who “speaks in tongues”, had to reiterate that one. What the fuck.
  • believes the 9/11 attacks were an inside job.
  • believes mocheal moore movies are gospel.
  • Believes only Hannity tells the “real” news, or only Chris Matthews tells the “real” news.

I love this list.

I don’t trust a man who…

engages in the trendy use of the word “uber”.

thinks the moon landing was faked.

thinks 9/11 was an inside job.

points out racism whenever possible just to sound noble.
