Felt crappy. 3 days off and I feel worse than when I’m maxing 3x a week. Need a lift off for benches that are 300+. Didn’t feel tight enough. Groin felt crappy on deads. The gym put in a few platforms that are basically just chitty rubber mats. Feet kept slipping on them. Probably gonna front squat Wednesday and hit some inclines. Just trying to dial stuff in now.

Bench moved ez. I’m back to normal now. Thinking 330 ish for my 3rd attempt. Deads moved super easy. Hands were just beat up. I’m so weak with a close stance deadlift. Real excited about squats. Gonna be pushing more high bar work post meet. I need to get my squat up to 500 or more to be semi competitive. SI joint feels like chit now.

Meet Report
15th Annual Bench and Deadlift
Weighed in yesterday at 176. I didn’t really want to cut weight, I just wanted to hit what I could hit.
Bench
went 3/3 with 290/315/330
Competition benches are so awesome. Had like 10-15 in the tank here. Warm ups felt really crappy, but once I got on the main stage i felt awesome.
There were like 4 benches in the warmup room so that warming up wasn’t an issue at all.
There were 7 or 8 flights. I think I was in the 4th. The meet moved really fast until the last 2 flights of bench. They took like twice as long as all of the other ones.
Deadlift
went 3/3 with 435/485/520
Pulling on a deadlift bar is pretty awesome. Last deadlift was easy. I finally started pulling sumo like you’re supposed to, and didn’t round the heck out of my back.
last few flights of deadlift freaking dragged. The meet started at like 10 ish and didn’t end until a little past 8.
Solid day. I guess I took first in the 181 junior bench and 2nd in the junior deadlift. I signed up for the open so idk why they put me in the juniors.
I’ll have the vids up of my attempts and some of my team mates attempts later when I get them. Deadlift was a 20lb pr. Bench was a pr. I’m not sure by how much because I really don’t pause my benching in training.
