That’s pretty much the same way I use my belt.
belts are generally pretty stiff the first time you use them and can take a while to be broken in, might feel a bit uncomfortable the first few times you use it that’s all.
Nice log by the way

I got a 10mm for that reason, I’ll see how fast I manage to break it in. Hopefully as I practice with lighter weights it will become more comfortable!
Thanks for posting !
Sorry, that wasn’t clear. My bad.
I mean, I squat and DL twice a week. So, generally, I squat with a belt once and once without and the same for DL.
That’s what I remember too so I thought that’s what you meant aha
Thanks again, I’ll tell you how it’s working out for me.
I worked late friday and saturday in the cold and felt horrible yesterday and this morning. I went to the doctor and got medication for a pretty sore throat. No gym today, I’ll go tomorrow. I’m off work thankfully so I’m resting.
It’s been a while I haven’t been sick, about 5-6 months, when I used to get sick pretty often with cycling to uni/running in the cold/swimming etc.
Good point though, it gave me the opportunity to talk about my thumb: I got a small sprain that is treatable with just standard cream I got prescribed.
Still felt sick yesterday and today. Also hurt my back moving furniture around the house so judged it wise to avoid the gym.
Did a small BW workout, 5 rounds of 20 BW squats, 10 chin, 20 push ups, rest 90s. Took 14:30. The worst thing for me is the push ups…
I’ll try to go to the gym today and do the OHP workout as it seems the most back friendly (weights are light as it’s 5s week).
Alright. Start of cycle 14. I don’t feel 100% yet, but Krypteia gives you a bit of humble pie.
C14W1D1 - Kyrpteia
3x5 box jumps and 100 pull aparts
OHP
5x32.5
5x37.5
5x42.5
5x5 FSL
Krypteia assistance with 2 KBs of 20 kgs. I had done the exercices before so it wasn’t a problem. I’ve done them with 24kg KBs so 20 was manageable. Holding the DBs is a good upper back/shoulder workout. I’ll increase the weights either next week or next cycle.
Done in 24minnot couting box jumps and pull aparts. I should have rested a bit more before the top set, bar speed was slow. For all the other sets it was good. I usually do the pressing set and jump straight towards the KBs. Then I rest however time I need.
Not sure how I’ll cope on lower body days. I might downgrade Spinal Tap to just the standard Krypteia program… depending on how I feel/recover from sickness. I might be overshooting with Spinal Tap and Krypteia assistance. Doing the Krypteia FIRST then upgrade to Spinal Tap with Krypteia assistance might make more sense.
I had to work in the cold and that didn’t make me feel better, obviously. The doc told me I’m all good my throat is just sore from the cold and dust.
My back is just a muscular thing, I’ll be fine. Got anti inflammatory meds for it to take just 3 days.
I’ll go back in the gym tomorrow. Taking it easy today.
On a good note my thumb feels much better and I received my inzer belt!
God damn that’s impressive.
And are you lifting the same total weight for the goblet squats as you are on the SLDL? You can definitely up the weight a lot for the SLDL. You’ve seen my logs. The SLDL is usually around double the weight of the goblet squat. Judging from your past logs, we’re at similar strength levels (though you seem to be hitting a lot of PRs! Jealous), so I’d imagine our assistance weight should be similar.
Yeah the same weight. Two 20kg KBs.
I want to end up at two 32kgs KBs that’s the heaviest of the gym. Are you using like 80-90lbs in each hand?
Edit so you are ! That’s a lot ahah I’ll work up for sure though !
My gym has adjustable DBs so I might use them.

Your gym doesn’t have 80-90lb DBs?
And your estimated maxes are so similar to mine. I know you can do these numbers for sure in a week or two. It’s taken me three weeks to build up to this; I’ve linearly progressed. I use one DB for goblet squats, and two for SLDLs. So a 95lb DB for squats and two 90 DBs for SLDL. My last video is a full workout of my bench session. I’m waiting for my full deadlift workout to be processed, so when that is finished, I’ll create my log for yesterday’s session.
Also, remember, I use straps for the SLDLs.
Just adjustable as I train in a very small gym aha
I’ll do that too and try to progress every workout ! Thanks again. I’ll see what I can do without straps
Back in the gym with the hodgetwi… oh no damn.
Feeling much better but still coughing. No back pain at all, thumb is almost healed too.

5x5x80 with belt to learn and feel it. I won’t use it again on FSL sets.
Krypteia assistance
I was done in 31 min, making sure to take my time to be fresh for the squats. The assistance is definitely tough. I’m not doing dips but I’ll try to go up in weight with the DBs.
I felt like using the belt reminded more to breath into my stomach which is a good cue. There are 9 holes in the belt and I put the prong exactly in the middle (4 holes on each side). To get a pretty tight fit in the hole of a squat I think I’ll have to go one hole tighter in the belt.
The assistance is definitely tough. I’m not doing dips but I’ll try to go up in weight with the DBs.
Are you saying the dips are hard for you? I will say I notice that movements that don’t really require full body movements, even though are heavier, are still easier, at least for me. You’re not nearly as out of breath. Or maybe I’m comparing 10 rep assistance movements to 5 rep main movements. The main lifts seem to be a breeze for me, with the exception of the deadlift.
I can do sets of 10 but I get a pretty bad elbow tendinitis from it, on both elbows. That’s the only exercice I decided to avoid forever as I can’t do any pressing or pulling involving my elbows when I’m hurt.
But I know what you mean, that’s why I’ll go up in weight. Jim doesn’t recommend any other exercice so I’ll follow the advice.
I saw a review on his blog where somebody used close-grip push ups, I guess that’s an alternative but I’d rather press on a high incline to work my shoulders more, especially if I do the full program and drop the OHP.
Dips/push ups are coumpound movements so that’s why you are out of breath more, you use more muscles.
Where do you want to end up on the weight of DBs/chins/dips ?
Yea I’m not saying what you’re doing is wrong by any means. I was just curious.
Dips, I don’t really know. I don’t do too much weighted dips. Last workout I did 5x14 at bodyweight on dips and that wasn’t too bad. I’m not sure if I’ll do 5x15 or just add a chain or something for weight.
Chins, I’ve always been weak. I can do 10 max bodyweight when I was 200 lbs. I’m now 210. If I can end up doing between 13-15 at 210 by the end of the cycle, I’d be pretty happy.
Yeah no I know aha
I really wish I could do them again though.
Yeah you’re heavier so that’s fair enough. I’m trying to maintain the sets of 10 but it’s definitely harder when you’re already out of breath!

Bench
Box jumps 4x5 SS with pull aparts 100 total
5x52,5
5x60 wraps
5x67,5 wraps
Was good to practice with the wraps
5x5 FSL
I used two 24kg KBs for the assistance, it felt good and might keep going up for the SLDL.
I was done in 29 min not counting box jumps, bar speed was good as I made sure to rest enough time.
Weight 84,5kg
The goblet squats must be pretty tough at that weight.
They really are, abs are working like crazy. My legs are fine though, holding the KBs is a good workout. They get me out of breath the most, the SLDL are fine and I focus on really stretching my hamstrings in the eccentric.
I guess I’ll go up in weight for the goblet squats at the end of this cycle.
Not sure if I want to push the reps as much as the weight…
