HRT Roll Call

Thanks for the info and encouragement! I’ll just have to take it a day at a time. I’ve been a bit stressed over this situation and I’m perhaps overly anxious to get back to my “normal” self. I suspected something was wrong but neglected far too long. After a couple of days of research I can see that this problem is very widespread. Very scary!

I’m 29, taking 200mg enanthate a week with 0.25 Arimidex EOD. Prescribed by me.

The largest improvements I’ve noticed are in energy and confidence. Getting stronger in the gym as well. Sexual function no difference which I was surprised about, although it wasn’t that bad in the first place. I haven’t turned in to a freak like some people have with replacement. I’m still trying to iron out my estradiol levels and how much anti-e I need. I just started recently so I need to figure out how my body is reacting and what needs tweaking.

Man, I am envious. Im just about to turn 36 and really starting to feel age comin on (possibly too early). I had went on a couple runs of test a couple years back, and felt pretty much as most described here. The thing is, that guy that helped me out has moved away and im feeling like i could be a likely candidate for HRT. Id like to try and see if i qualify for for this program but im not exactly raking in cash. Im curious how much an HRT program is costing folks and if anyone knows of a clinic in my area around St.Louis. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Local clinics aren’t the only resource though. There are some on the net also.

I hope this isn’t a hijack, but here it goes.

Without going into too much detail about how I’ve gotten to this point, my blood test came back for me today. The two main things that the Doc told me are that I’m pre-diabetic @125. And that my t-levels are low… really low. I’ll turn 40 in August and my t-levels on a 14 hour fast are 198. She is going to put me on a HRT pill. She says the the shots are old technology and that the patch is not as effective as she would like it to be. Although she did say that I could go to it if I want. I don’t know what I’ll be using as of tomorrow but I’m wondering if anybody can tell me two things. What if any t-boosting or e-reducing supplements are okay to take with HRT, and will the anabolic diet be effective and/or safe with the HRT and/or pre-diabetes. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I posted this at Supplements and Nutrition as well, but I thought that people with direct experience would be able to offer some advice with maybe a different twist as well.

Thanks,
Warriorsage

Just because shots are old technology doesn’t mean it’s less effective. Shots are the most effective method for HRT to date. The pills are absolutely worthless. The only reason the gels are around is because they are less invasive, but they hardly have the reputation the shots do.

The typical dosing for Andriol(testosterone pills) is 200mg a day! So little is being absorbed since it has no 17-A attached for a liver bypass. That’s 14 times the dose given for intramuscular shots. Most of the experiences in other HRT forums are extremely negative on this form of testosterone supplementation.

I’d ask your doctor for the shots if I were you. Good luck!

The gel is a good place to start. It took my T from under 100 ng/dl to 700 at 3/4 of full dosing. It also is more consistent than shots which will give you spikes and valleys. Of course, if your goal is to go beyond normal T ranges, the gel is not the best choice. Forget the patch and pill, in my opinion.

Am I the only one here over the age of 30 not on HRT?

As an older guy, and type II…
Some years ago A Dr Julian Whitaker subscribtion news letter suggested men use dhea. That was the first time I ever heard of it. Some years later I came across a company called Life Plus, and something they called Endocryn DHEA.
Everyone that I know that has used both, continues using them. I know it has made a verry nice difference in me. And I am not a salesman for them and do not get anything for mentioning this. Just sharing something that is good, and it works for me and my friends.

I have been on test cyp. injs for about 3 mos. now , started on 100mg. a week, now on 75mg a week with 100mg HCG. weekly as well and I do not notice any ups and downs at all,I feel good most all the time, the times i don’t it is because my reflux not my T any more. So in my own experience the weekly shots are the way to go.My ins. doesn’t cover the doc. that i see, but they do cover the test($21 a vile!,lasts 10 weeks.) Hcg from doc.$50 a month, well worth the higher cost to have an office visit with my out of network doc.

Hi there- I have an HRT question : I bailed on Androgel after 2 weeks because I didnt think it was helping my fatigue/mood
etc. I realize that was too soon to properly evaluate so I am going back on.
The question is : in order to determine
if HRT can impact my symptoms, would an
injection be a quicker way to get initial symptom relief ? I want to stick with Androgel if possible but I thought a shot would help me say “ok- the low T is causing my problem” without having to wait for up to 2 months for results. Then I could go w/ Androgel
daily after making the connection between the low t and my symptoms.
thanks to HH and GDM for your previous input on another thread awhile back.
Hope you all are well.

best - PV

I’m 45, legally on Androgel and loving it! I’m considering a little self medication on the side for more improvement.I’ve been on Androgel for about six months now and am in the best shape of my life…5’6", 220 with a 330 bench(no spotter), still losing some belly fat, but doing great.

Anyone with MPB using HRT? Is it exacerbating it? In general, how does it effect the hairline? Thanks for any input.

No changes for me, I’ve got some MPB going on and neither T-cyp or Testim has made a difference in my hair. I’m not doing anything special to slow the hair loss either.

Hey timhlbrk. I am finding the same results with bf reduction. What is your dosage?

Just started working out in January after trying to lose weight. At 43, I am 6’2" and 255. Started at 285 last November when I reached a peak at that weight. I had my blood drawn for HRT a week ago. Waiting on the results and will let you know my deal as soon as I hear. This website is great.

I was on 10g daily but, scored above 1000ng/dl and doc freaked out and lowered me to 7.5 which has me around 880 ng/dl
