Okay so I like thinking about this sometimes and just sorta planning it out in my head. Problem is, I don’t know if it’s stupid or actually very possible. Here it is…
Right now i’m 5’10" 174 lbs probably 13-14% bodyfat. I was thinking how I would spend this coming first semester (8/24/06-12/16/06) going from 174 to 185. Then from (12/16/06-1/16/07) maintain that bodyweight and gain more strength on that 185 lb frame.
Then, 2nd semester of this school year, I’ll spend the first 10 weeks going up to 195 from 185, then spend the last 8 weeks and 3 months of summer maintaining at 195, working on gaining strength at that size.
Then, spend the first 15 weeks of senior year 1st semester going from 195 to 210 lbs, and then after that, just spend all the rest of the first semester and 2nd semester maintaining at 210 lbs.
Does this seem like a reasonable goal to make in a 2 year time span? It means I will have gone from 145 lbs to 210 pounds in 2 years. Or better yet, is this a smart approach to it? I just hate the idea of bulking straight for like 56 weeks without ever having maintenance periods of times.
Dude, I’d say it looks all good on paper. Problem is, communism even looks good on paper.
It’s good to have a plan, but using the numbers as a guideline isn’t a great idea. How about just aim to get around a range and put on weight and strength over the next 1 to 2 years.
well, i’m speaking generally i guess you could say. obviously not 185 on the dot, 195 on the dot, 210 on the dot. Just aiming for + or - a couple pounds away from the goal weights would be fine. And besides, ya gota gain weight around here, can’t just let things happen! :rolling eyes:
I would take a look at CT’s new book on body transformation. Part of it has information on steroids by Anthony Roberts, but the training and diet stuff is written by CT for a natural trainer and is really excellent.
At the end of the book he outlines various templates and goes through a yearly plan, week by week for body recomposition. Basically focusing on adding muscle, then losing fat while maintaining.
Might be something you’d want to check out.
sounds like a good book, but i just don’t really see the point in spending money on a book with all the free information there is out here on the net. assuming one can control their diets enough to keep it fully clean, eat the right things at the right time as they know they should, and follow one of the author’s programs on this website or other trusted websites, i see no reason to buy a book.
i would just eat a lot of food, lift some heavy ass weights, and run some sprints if you start gaining too much fat
