How to Minimize Lactic Acid Burn?

I’ve been lifting for a long time.

One component I’ve been missing, but have learned from the Best Workout Plan for Natural Lifters workouts, is the mind- muscle connection.

This has been a real game changer.

The issue I’m running into with techniques like 6-8–10 drop sets as an example, is the burn becomes so intense with contacting the muscle, feeling the muscle contact hard the entire time, getting the reps, etc., that I have to stop before the muscle wants to stop.

I take a second or two to shake it off, grit out a few more, etc, until the muscle gets to failure.

What is this telling me? Is there something I can change in my diet? I take supplements, but is there supplement I can take to minimize this roadblock?

Or is it simply squeezing my eyes shut, gritting my teeth and trying to complete more reps under this intense burn?

Thanks!

The only “supplement” proven to reduce acidification of the muscle is sodium bicarbonate, a teaspoon 30 min prior to the workout. Beta-alanine could also help.

Thank you. I will give it a try.

You could have a Vitamin B1 deficiency. You could also try reducing the amount of refined carbohydrates and sugars in your diet.
