How to Mentally Release Myself to Squat Deep

Steve,

I guess I’ll be the odd man out here and say GET STRONGER. It’s clear to me that you are attempting to use weights too heavy for your current level of strength. With the squat, it is common to see less and less depth as ego lifting comes into play. If 185 (or sub 225) is the last weight you can hit depth at, you have no business having 315 on that bar- IF your intention is to do actual free squats. 315x10 usually squats to a 400ish max. Someone with a 400ish max should be able to hit depth easily, all day long, with confidence in the 200’s.

It isn’t some mental thing you need to “unlock” or “release” or whatever.

You look like a small framed guy, and you said you have only been training legs a year. You need time to build your abs/lower back to be able to hit depth with the numbers you are attempting, without being folded over.

Spot on, you just hit the nail on the head.
