Really? I’m in the wrong business. I could have just set up a gym, maintained and staffed it for free. And idiots would pay me to use it, except for a few smart people.
Yeah then you could charge $1,000,000 per day to lift there and complain about people feeling entitled and not paying your ridiculous price. Then go out of business and kill yourself. Which you should do anyway.
When someone lifts at the gym, there’re not costing the gym anything. A car driving on the road doesn’t cost the state more than if they hadn’t driven on the road.
Wait, wait, wait…so someone going to a gym cost the gym nothing? I guess someone just squated down and shat out the gym equipment, it wasn’t purchased at any point. And I guess that person sitting at the front desk or sweeping the floor is a free volunteer? Yeah, commercial gyms have ZERO costs! It’s all a giant scam!
And driving your car down the road costs the state nothing? The state doesn’t spend money to maintain the road? Or staff the fire department that’s going to respond to your head-on because your head was so far up your self-centered ass that you didn’t see that you had drifted into oncoming traffic?
And, brah, are you really telling people to kill themselves because they are rightly calling you a thief? My God, you’re either a troll or should have been an abortion.

Not in Louisiana. I have nothing else to contribute, but I thought I’d point that out.

Oh, and while it may be wrong to go into a gym and lift for free, I’m sure that going into a gym and picking up their dumbbells and so on would at least get you into a cozier ring of hell than the guy who steals cars or whatnot.
So it’s ok to steal because you don’t have a credit card? And you think someone is going to hell for something so trifling? In that case we’re all doomed, and since we’re already going there for such a trifling, we might as well go around raping and murdering as we see fit because like you said we’re already going to hell for sure. Keep up the religion like a good little sheep. Donate more to church pedophiles have to eat, too.
God damn it mother fucker I was kind of trying to come out on your side a bit!
Not to take sides or anything, but talking about Biotest (just out of interest); they still make money from people who don’t buy supplements. It’s pretty genius actually, because 10 years ago or so (can’t remember when they started) this type of marketing was in it’s infancy. You could say that Biotest were one of the few pioneers out there. Things like blogging etc today (free information on a blog), has really cottoned on to what sites like Biotest were doing years ago -
Advertise something as free, and it attracts loads more visitors. The more visitors to a site, the more posts and threads. The more posts and threads, the more what are called “link ins” that they have. In other words, whenever someone makes a new post/thread, that information will get picked up by the search engine “robots”. Any time someone searches for a key phrase/word, if it matches the content in a post/thread it links them to T-Nation (thus often ranking T-Nation onto the 1st page).
This is the sort of thing that’s hard to pay for (1st page ranking on search engines). And it’s all thanks to content (created not only by T-Nation authors, but also by the visitors). It would be almost impossible to compete with T-Nation because of the masses of daily content being added.
Not only that, but the better the quality of the site (e.g. good members giving help/aid to other members in the forums) the more likely someone is going to stay and value Biotest (and raises the chance of them being a buying customer). What makes them stand out from the competition is constant activity and quality content. The constant activity is because of the quality authors they use to write articles, AND the good members who give valuable advise.
Of course, it all boils down to people buying in the end, but that doesn’t mean that those not buying aren’t also contributing to the functioning of the online business. Without the “community”, there would be no T-Nation. Without the heavy contributors (not just authors, but general members), there would be no high page ranking = poor traffic = poor sales
//End internet marketing 101
lol
Isnt it pretty damn obvious that the OP is just trolling?
This thread reminds me of something that should be over in PWI… Stupid pointless arguments that just go round and round and round.

So if I go to a gym, they have to pay for gym equipment, employees, etc. Ok I agree with that. But if I don’t go, then they DON’T have to pay for all that? Oh that’s right, they pay for that shit whether or not I lift there. Thus I’m not costing them anything when I lift there.
You’re fucking stupid. Learn some Economics 101 and google rivalry and excludability. I can’t be bothered to explain a simple distinction to you. Going to a gym for free is not rival (unless super packed I guess) and in my case not excludable.
And you’re REALLY fucking stupid because if you had any reading comprehension whatsoever, you’d realize that this is completely irrelevant to my main point since I DON’T GIVE A FUCK IF IT COST THEM THEIR ENTIRE BUSINESS.
If I could do something for free I would, and they can burn to the ground for all I care, so long as it burns after I’m done with it. I never said “BECAUSE it’s not costing the gym anything THAT JUSTIFIES me not paying.”
I don’t need any justification, I just fucking do it. Problem? The only reason I said anything about cost at all was to reply to people who said I was costing the gym, which I’m not. I couldn’t be any clearer about any of this.

Except you kinda did take sides there, didn’t you? And provide a nice self-justification for not buying any supplements to support Biotest! How convenient. It’s cool bro, that’s my point. You’re a “thief” just like me but guess what so are most of the people bitching in this thread. My point is who cares it doesn’t fucking matter and people on their moral high horse should just stfu. Don’t feel bad it’s how 99% of people are, but almost none of them are honest about it.
In this society honesty is valued somewhat less than having dog fights (when someone is honest society goes after them more than Michael Vick) but valued slightly more than raping children. All those priests are still free and being supplied with virgin young boys to rape, and everyone is ok with this (if you look at everyone’s acceptance behavior, rather than lip service against it). So yeah to honestly say you steal causes outrage, when 99% do the same shit when they can get away with it. Not that I care about honesty. The hypocrisy is mind-blowing though.

Agreed - it’s 10 FUGGIN bucks. Parasites.
Can the OP tell us how he steals FREE protein bars and Gatorade from the gym too?
It varies from gym to gym. It’s easiest at non-commercial local gyms where the employees are more likely to be scatter-brained and not paying attention. I would recommend you not try though since the risk/reward ratio isn’t enough to make it worth taking. You might actually go to jail for stealing.
Things like protein bars or Gatorade just pay for, it’s only a few bucks. Don’t be so cheap, ffs.

Heh, that’s funny. People argue for a bit, and when their arguments fail and they’re owned, they say “OP IS TROLLING HERP DERP”
You might not like my point of view, but I’m actually giving good arguments. Hence, not trolling.

Still wrong about what?
Actually OP’s point of view - “I do it cuz I can” is fine imho.
If in his situation it’s worth risking not paying $10 and potentially getting kicked out - it’s his personal decision whether to do it or not and potentially pay for consequences.
His attempts to justify this approach by attacking others, by hating on gym owners etc are rather weak though.

“Attacking others” and “hating on gym owners” is good fun but not a justification for going to a gym for free. For the millionth time, I don’t need a justification for that, I just do it. The reason is not paying $10.
