They see you roll up and maybe they stop you at first because they love the drama and shit but deep down it’s because they want your cock. I could be wrong.

Haha, yeah that kind of thinking may get you into trouble

Most of those women simply see themselves as moral police - they literally get their kicks from pinpointing other people’s faults and asserting their opinion as if somehow you are being intimidating/inconsiderate towards them or others. They’re the type who’re always quick to jump to conclusions (usually a negative one that accuses a person of having alterior motives)

Mostly though, they just like the sound of their own voice and will never back down because they’re always “right”
Yeah, I think you’re right. People love to feel morally superior to others, so any chance to jump on someone and criticize them they take. That puts them above that person in their mind. After all, there’s so much evil shit going on in the world. We all feel helpless even though we want to do something, all our options to help seem futile and we know they won’t make much of a difference. We can be the morality queen though, criticize others and feel righteous. World’s still fucked but at least we get to feel special.

It can be people bitching about Charlie Sheen or some random lady at the mall. Like last week, I spit on the sidewalk and some lady started yelling at me. I said “Shut the fuck up grandma (she was late 30s at most), no one cares what you think go knit a sweater or something and mind your own damn business.” That learned her. So funny to see the 180 in her demeanor, from righteous bitch to skulking away. They’re just like bullies, tough until you put them in their place.

Anyway my point is that all these moralfags on here might feel special and better than others etc but really if they actually cared about morals they’d take the time they wasted on here bitching, and go volunteer, work more hours to donate some money, something, anything. But that would require actually doing some good, rather than just pretending you’re good because you let gyms rape you? And then you defend them after lololol
Ah ok, I see you’re just trolling. Carry on.

1 - I don’t know how anyone could say most gyms don’t offer a free trial. I travel constantly for work and can almost always find a place w/a free day or week to offer. If you can find a Gold’s, go their website, print off the pass and away you go.

2 - Places like Metroflex that do charge, I happily pay. I’m not understanding all these crazy ass analogies to justify stealing. If the rate sucks, don’t even walk in the place.
If they’re willing to let you train for free when you’re obviously not going to sign up for a membership (or do you lie and tell them you’re thinking about it? in that case why waste your time and theirs, just walk in) then how is it stealing when you train for free? oh right filling out some bullshit paperwork makes all the difference.

Some gyms offer free trials, others don’t. You’re wasting everyone’s time just to ease your conscience (even though you’re lying to get the free trial lol)

And you should sign up for a Gold’s membership if they’re at most places you travel to. You can get a travel card to use when away from your home location.
Not sure where you’re coming up with any of this. I simply follow whatever policy said establishment has in place. I’ve never lifted under the guise that I was even thinking about a long-term membership and Gold’s never follows-up after the fact. I always give them legit info.
We both know trials are to entice you to sign up for a membership. If you have no intent to sign up for a membership then they wouldn’t give you the free trial, OR they don’t care about you lifting for free for one day. In which case it’s not stealing to lift for free for one day… christ shit’s not complicated.

AND, fuck you both.
My gym has cameras at the front desk and everywhere else. If I had let some freeloader jump the gate, my dickhead boss would have had me pay the 15$ day charge out of my lousy 9$ an hour wage. I’m not paying for your training, I don’t give a shit if you are a “big dog”, pay up or leave.
LOL so typical. Someone works for a place that fucks him, and rather than be mad at the place that fucks him, he is mad at other people who aren’t being fucked as hard as he is by the company.

Besides, those cameras aren’t checked unless something bad happens (e.g., money stolen from safe)

Where did I involve you in this? Where did I say that I’d try and avoid paying?

Just commenting on one part of the paragraph about SOME women IN GENERAL (not even considering the context which obviously you felt angry about)

Here’s another one. July 2008, 5062 posts and LEVEL ONE. Keep leeching off Biotest while not supporting them by buying their products. What a great moral exemplar you are to us all…

Tell me what have you done that’s so morally praiseworthy? Did you know that for the price of a movie you could literally save a poor African child’s life? Which choice do you regularly make though? That’s right, you see shitty movies to be entertained for a couple hours and let the children die.

I see shitty movies, too. But I don’t go around saying “I AM MORALLY SUPERIOR” on internet forums.

I have absolutely no problem with people who want to be moral, but those that “blow a trumpet” in front of themselves is kind of irritating (those seeking attention for a behaviour/“acheivement”).

I have no problem with people who want to be moral, but those who do it in hypocrisy really gets to me.

I have no problem with people who want to be moral, but those who cannot even see their OWN faults really annoys me.

Not that this is on topic mind you lol

Wow, it’s not hard to understand. You can be on T NATION and not buy any supplements. But don’t go around saying others are stealing when they do the same thing at a gym that you do on T NATION. The hypocrisy is the problem.

I think that it’s fine to be on here for free and not buy any supplements. It’s also fine to lift for free at a gym for one day. There I tried to explain it at a 6th grade level. I can do it at a 1st grade level if you need

This thread is genius. What you described there is the art of lying. Confidence is the key to a good liar. If a person does not believe his own lie, it’s easy to see through. The more one can make himself seem to believe his own lie(he belongs in that gym) the better it works(gets him a free workout lol!).

Not questioning the “morality” here as I don’t give a fuck.
Logistics-wise though - when traveling for work, most of the time the daily schedule is so tight and hectic that finding time to workout is a challenge in itself so the risk of getting caught and having to find another semi decent gym in the unfamiliar area is not worth the $10 imho.
Also small-business “hardcore” type gyms, while harder to find are very understanding when it comes to these matters (not to mention are better to workout at) and very often have punch-card type memberships where you pay upfront for 10 or so workouts for $50 or so.
But to each its own I suppose.

Frankly I’m shocked this thread gets to keep going. People get timeouts and bans for talking about stealing on other forums. When I first clicked on this thread, I thought there were going to be ideas such as calling beforehand and making some kind of arrangement with the management, something I’ve actually done in the past. Or the idea mentioned earlier about checking for online deals.

Your fees aren’t FAIR! Who cares if the price point is at a level where honest people have no trouble paying and you can sustain your business? It’s not fair to ME! Now gimme some free pics because I deserve it!
Read the OP. I’d spend over $1000 on gym fees every year if I always paid when traveling. That’s in addition to the $350 I pay for my yearly membership. Obviously I would just not train. They don’t need to charge $10 per day to sustain their business, either.

I hope I catch you in the desert dying of thirst. I will take you for every fucking penny you own and read your sarcastic post to you when you switch to my point of view.
Catch me in the desert? I live in Maryland. We ain’t go no deserts silly!

Here’s one more of those analogy things:

You mentioned you had a nicely appointed gym at your home where you would allow others to train, as long as they followed some ground rules. I take it no rule following equalled suspension or even a permanent ban?

Paying for entry into a commercial gym is a rule for that private enterprise. Don’t follow the rules, and you don’t get to use the facilities. Same ideas, just different details.
That’s fine. After I use the gym without paying they can ban me lol.

I wasn’t even comparing my gym to a commercial one as far as rules go. Just saying I had in fact run a gym since someone suggested I do that and see how I like the freeloaders. All the “freeloaders” weren’t a problem since they didn’t cost me anything. In fact, they made the place better, just as I do when I train at commercial gyms, whether I paid or not.

Even if you insist on comparing, I don’t think the basic rule of “don’t destroy the place or ruin equipment” is the same as “Pay a ridiculous fee for one day or GTFO”

The amount of self entitlement in this thread is off the charts…

Great argument for why one should lie. Dr. House would be proud lol

What about the gym owner? He thinks he’s entitled to $10 for one day at what is usually a shitty gym.

Btw, study some history. Empires weren’t built by a swell moralfag fellow coming upon new land and saying to the previous owner, “Good day, sir! May I vastly overpay for this territory?” No, they just fucking took it by force. You know, like what the Europeans did to Native Americans in North America. Something to think about…

He IS entitled to whatever he wants to charge for it. He is NOT forcing you to go train at his gym. You have a choice to rip him off or not, he however, has no means to stop you. He could lower the price, but heck, you’d probably still go for a free ride anyways. I know I would.

Oh by the way, I don’t think I’m a moralfag, I’d just prefer if you said “fuck it, I don’t feel like paying for a a training session, I’m just gonna steal instead, and so fucking what” - Don’t go off blaming it on the owner.

The difference is that T NATION has decided to give those articles away for free, along with forum memberships. This isn’t the gyms MO though. They make their money by people coming in and paying to use the facility and equipment. So, yes, that is stealing. Until T NATION decides you have to buy ex-amount of Biotest product a month to be on the forums or read the articles, comparing the two is comparing apples and oranges.

So, in your mind, having equipment in your backyard and choosing to allow friends and families use it is the same as trying to run a business where you have to pay rent or lease, maintenance, payroll, insurance, etc on a monthly basis? And still trying to make an income for yourself?

So, what? You’re waging a war of conquest against gyms across America? Is that what you’re trying to say?

You’re definitely a piece of work.
