any ideas on supplements or certain nutritional plans that will allow me to gain weight back fast!!! when i started training i weighed 155 and gained 15 lbs of lean muscle in a about a year, i then plateued and only really gained another 5 but i had to do cardio since i was in police academy. i usually stayed away from cadio since my metabolism seemed to be so fast so i countered it with not eating as healthy but i was able to keep my strength and size.
unfortunately after the police academy i started with one of the nations most difficult field training programs which resulted in a huge amount of stress, long hours and no breaks. even when i did have time to eat i was so nervous i couldn’t eat. long story short in about 6 weeks time i have lost all 20lbs and i am below my starting weight two years ago and its driving me nuts.
i still have 12 weeks of field training left so i know the stress may not get much better until i am on my own without someone looking over my shoulder pointing out every mistake. but i can’t afford to loose anymore weight or muscle. any advice!!! certain food?? supplements or meal plans when you are on the go and working different hours and days. thanks
better breakfast, nutrient dense snacks (nuts etc) and is there really no chill time to reduce stress? Sleeping ok?
Finally, you said it was for another 12 weeks, hang in there focus on the job, once you have settled into the next phase, after all this, doing what you did to gain the 15lbs will bring it all back quite quickly I would think, as you seem to have been depleted in such a short time
I started adding 2 raw eggs and some coconut milk to my protein shakes. I hope this will help me to add some extra calories. Also, when I was stressed from moving to another country I lost my appetite too, I found the best thing to do is to eat comfort food i.e. stuff that you can devour like a bacon and cheese burger with onion rings, or a pizza.
It might not be the most healthy option, but missing out on the calories is going to be more damaging to your physique.
thanks for the advice guys… i do have two bottle of 11-t i bought when it first came out. i put it in my freezer waiting till i i thought i was going to really dedicate my self and then with the job and business i never did use it yet?? really don’t want to waste it but not real sure how great it really is since haven’t heard much since it came out but was thinking it was designed to reduce effects of cortisol which seems to be big problem now. i do sleep pretty good at current time.
I’ve got a similair build and metabolism to you, lost 18 lbs in less than two weeks because of a medical issue… just laying in a hospital bed for 6 days and not being able to eat much took a bulk of that 18 lbs away. seems 6 meals a day and some nutrient dense foods along with gym time have been doing the trick. PBJ sandwiches, bacon, lots of eggs, whole milk, ice cream, and heavy cream, all kinds of meat, squats. squats and milk. I’ve been using milk pretty extensively to get some calories and protein down. I go through about a gallon of whole milk every two days, and take a protein digest supplement otherise the quantity of milk screws with my system. I started to log the results and as long as I’m going to the gym I’ve been gaining good weight back with no additional fat showing up on the calipers. my vegetables for the day come from a V-8 jug. funny enough, I wasn’t going to the gym at first with this diet thinking if I could put a little fat on me it would be a good thing. I was eating around 4k calories a day at 145 lbs and having almost no physical activity while I was healing up… didn’t gain anything back, not even putting on fat. couldnt figure it out, then the minute I started to hit the gym, the weight started coming back on. I’m on week two now and so far I’ve gained back 5 lbs with absolutely no apparent fat gain which is hellishly surprising. seems it comes back on a lot easier than it did to initially build. sleep is always crucial for me. good luck
