How to Dress: At the Gym

I know all men use “the smell test” for clothing so I won’t even ask that, however, how lenient do you get with your smell test for gym attire? I’ve ended up wearing some pretty bad stuff after waking up and thinking about how I should have done laundry the night before.
LOL. Yeah I have done that a few times because I was too lazy to throw my shorts in the washer. Since I smelt like ball sweat I made sure to walk far away from the ladies.

If I can smell it without having to pull it away from my face, its fine. This way, when combining deodourant I can get a few weeks outs of some clothes. Not gym clothes though.

you have to know how to dress to pick up chicks at the gym…come on guys.

I just puked all over my screen.

Earlier today at Koloseum gym I was told not to drop the weights…I didn’t even think I dropped them…THIS IS AT MILOS SARCEV KOLOSEUM SUPPOSEDLY HARDCORE…NOT…
Well, milos is a pussy too and never uses weights heavy enough to warrant dropping them after the set, so what do you expect from his gym? ;D
Now Golds is going all pussified.

My last hope is to move to Metroflex in TX and hope for the best.

I’m pretty pissed off at all the wanna be hardcore gyms like GOLDS and all the pussified fitness gyms running amock!

THIS SUCKS!

Tell me about it…

My painting/construction clothes + athletic clothes are more or less interchangeable, thus… people often think I’m a painter off work or something in the gym. Mind you, I also don’t go to a fitness club.

I don’t think most people here will know what 550 cord or CLP is.

I win.

The V-neck shirt will make your neck look skinnier, guys. Go with that.

That’s what jumped out at me. Why on Earth would anyone want to make their neck look “slimmer?” And even if I did, I would never wear a v-neck. I don’t care how fashionable they are, they’re fucking ugly.

Maybe on you…
Hello!

There’s one guy at my gym that must’ve bought out the UnderArmour outlet store as he’s covered head to toe in the stuff everyday at the gym. Since he’s one of the 150# crowd, methinks the money would’ve been better spent on food.

My attire at the gym yesterday consisted of a 5 year old UA shirt and cut off sweatpants.

Why don’t you wear your singlet and see if you get any fashion advice. My squat suit is black so even though I get looks, I know it’s slimming

2 weeks before the meet my girl and i just did I wore my singlet in to train in it…and people were staring.

I guess I have nice thighs. or a small singlet. (top = just right, bottom = too small. meaning: large ass!)
Wait wait wait. You wore a singlet (not a squat suit) in a commercial gym?

THAT is probably the gayest gym story Iv ever heard.

Edit: People werent staring because you have nice thighs or a big ass or anything like that. They were staring because you were wearing a fucking singlet in a commercial gym. thats like showing up at a dance club in your ballet tights.

People seem to think they need to wear their singlets in the gym before the meet. Probably concerned about their mammal toes.

Gotta learn the gear…wait…

On a slightly related note, if it takes a singlet to make your ass look big, it really isn’t. XXL basketball shorts are a better indicator.

Same pair of shorts every time in the gym, only get washed when I can smell them before they’ve left my bag.

I’m terrible at remembering to pack my Chucks, so I’ve trained in walking boots (my usual footwear), smart boots and barefoot (got called for that in the gym, I just pointed out to the guy that if I did indeed drop the one side of the 300lbs I was deadlifting on my foot, then having trainers on probably wouldn’t help that much).

Top half gets clad in the first t-shirt to come out of my wardrobe.

I can’t believe no one’s mentioned the typical bodybuilder atire of clown trousers, string vest, head thing and waist bag thing yet.

Nice picture…you ever been to the games?

went and lifted after rugby practice last night and the only thing I changed were my shoes. tore up “ugly” kit- mid thigh level canteburys- orange knee socks- trainers. Only did arms so I didn’t get my funk on any benchs but the stares were amusing.

I wear rugby shorts to the gym all the time. Mid thigh or higher is the way to go (usually with compression shorts or UA boxer briefs underneath). Great freedom of movement. Also, rugby socks are great for covering your shins while deadlifting.

Not as nice as the picture I got in my head at the thought of squatting in a kilt. I’d have thought it would be deep enough if you could pick up a dime.
