How to Deal with Excessive Leg Soreness?

600mg ibuprofen, every 4-6 hours.

There’s also prescription Voltaren Gel (diclofenac sodium) for when you think you actually might have pulled something. I pulled my abdomen during a white water rafting trip, and got prescribed that. The doc said he uses it religiously on his knees. But that’s more for specific soreness rather than general soreness.[/quote]

Not a big fan of taking painkillers for anything, but I guess if it gets really bad I’ll have to consider it. Thanks for the suggestion:)

Lol, after seeing everyone else’s answers here, it made me realize how much dating/living with a doctor for the past couple years has influenced my thinking.

Good luck. I’m curious to know what worked for you besides time.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Man up and embrace the soreness!!

I kinda like it…

Anything that gets the blood in there I find helps a lot. And totally agree with myosin, avoid long periods of inactivity, that creeping doom’ll getcha

Thanks for all the suggestions guys:)

Went for what was supposed to be a slow jog today. Problem was the dude I was running with obviously saw it as a competition and I refused to let him show me up. Legs felt like they were made of lead and I was in agony pretty much the whole time. As we were approaching the end of the run, he started going all out to get ahead, and so the last 300 meters turned into an all out sprint. Ended up with max heartrate and acid filled legs again.

Result is me now having trouble with basic human functions just like I feared. It has been getting progressively worse throughout the day. Even getting off the couch takes serious mental preparation. Stretched alot and took a constrast shower, but cant say I feel like it helped.

Guess I just have to man up as has been suggested haha;)

I know something that might work:

Go down to your local store and pick up some superglue. Just any kind will do but make sure it’s strong…

…and use it to reattach your balls, princess!

So now I have to put up with verbal abuse AND not being able to walk:(

fml lol:D

…station bike or any form of light cardio; although not enjoyable in the beginning; makesa big difference.

.

Booze. No kidding. Bad for the diet/staying lean, but good for the muscle soreness. Couple of fingers of scotch (maybe a full glass), or maybe a glass of wine (really the whole bottle) and you’ll be fine. Well, sorta. The pain may be there, but it won’t bother you so much.

And that baby oil will be even more fun.

Drink Plazma - apparently it takes away all muscle soreness.

Foam rolling and cardio. LISS in particular.

After the weights walk on treadmill for 10 minutes or if you have access to a prowler make 5-10 passes with no weight on.

Thanks again for all the tips guys:) Did 30 minutes of light biking today after the weights, keeping heartrate at 120-130. Felt good to just get some blood in them.

Will be trying the alcohol tip tomorrow Kravi haha;)

Plazma! It’ll accidently get you into contest shape too. Not a bad side effect IMO.

Must be a bad doctor if she/he suggest taking painkillers when you have DOMS, and in such big amounts. I take 400mg ibuprofen when I have 39C fever, you take 600mg ibuprofen every 4hours after a tough workout/when not eating enough protein.

Unhealthy.

eat more protein

lol, spot on

Where exactly are your medical credentials to judge? Nothing wrong with a bit of vitamin I, especially if the OP is having trouble with simple tasks like standing up.
