The source of the energy is part of our system but climate does not leave our atmosphere all you can state is the source of the energy come from outside the earths atmosphere

You’re high right now aren’t you.

Did you miss the post where I explained that not only do things other than energy enter Earth’s “system” via things like meteorites, but that particles and even molecules regularly escape Earth’s magnetic field? Basically Earth is sloughing off parts of its atmosphere into space all the time. It doesn’t matter that it’s an open system imo, but it is one nonetheless. There’s not really a case to be made otherwise.[/quote]
meteors are not part of the system but for the most part they have no consequences . I do not know if particle do escape earth but what is the consequence ? Do they even effect our system ?

lol. Pit. I don’t know that else to tell you. Maybe you don’t know what closed system means. I’m not really sure what you mean about climate leaving. Climate isn’t an object. We are discussing an energy systems problem with the energy source(s) outside the system in question with a large loss of energy externally and you don’t get that that makes it the definition of an open system.

Yes, it isn’t part of it, and it affects it. Hence the system is open.
And they have no effect, other than that one that caused the ice age and killed the dinosaurs?

One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. ‘you’re nothing but a fanboy’ is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.

A system serves a function just because something else exists does not mean it is part of the operation

While there are those would agree with the hypothesis that meteors did these things there are others that contribute those consequences to other happenings
I am not arguing that anything happened in particular , what I am arguing is a bunch of internet know it alls can not trump a bunch of Scientists trained to consider more mitagating factors than you and I

A set of connected things or parts forming a complex whole, in particular.
A set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or an interconnecting network.
I think it must be you that is high this is the second time I had to tell you what system means

Actually they can. Scientists are just people like anyone else. They went to college and got a job just like tons of other people. Some of them may have tertiary degrees, many don’t. There is no magical wizard induction ceremony when you become scientist. You aren’t exposed to all the secrets of the universe. You’re just a guy like you were before. There are still people out there smarter than you. There are still people out there who could study something and form a different opinion and be correct.
How many people on this website would follow anything remotely close to any past or present iteration of the “food pyramid”? Anyone? Is it dumb as hell? Don’t argue with science; drop your protein and fix your macros.

Where did water come from? Some believe that it was brought here by comets. So the entire atmosphere was brought here from some place else. Not a closed system.

yes
At present I am having a conversation about the definition of system. It is not even science
