Had a couple of high strength Zincs the last 2 nights (cant remember the mg off the top of my head- will look when I get in from work) and feel pretty energised today. Strong libido too - even the quite overweight receptionist in the adjacent office is catching my eye…
I’m thinking my e2 has been running a bit higher than is ideal.
I am not a nutritionist. Just giving you my 2 cents.
Too much magnesium from foods isn’t a concern for healthy adults. However, the same can 't be said for supplements. High doses of magnesium from supplements or medications can cause nausea, abdominal cramping and diarrhea.
Magnesium is Fat - soluble. You have to be careful with fat soluble vitamins. Vitamins A, D, E, and K. Minerals. These include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium , phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and zinc.
It is important to take the right kind of mag. The cheap stuff is only good for a laxative. You also want to eat some fat (avacodo for example) when taking mag.
I also get a libido, and ejaculation volume boost from zinc. I like 15mg /day but have also used 30 mg. Also eat some good fat when taking zinc.
Looks like 50mg-100mg can really FU up.
Signs of too much zinc include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and headaches. When people take too much zinc for a long time, they sometimes have problems such as low copper levels, lower immunity, and low levels of HDL cholesterol (the " good " cholesterol)
Magnesium is not soluble in fat. It is ionic, with a 2+ charge, so would not be soluble in fat. Neither would any of the minerals listed.
Since Mg, Ca, Fe, and Zn all posses a 2+ charge in an aqueous environment (like in the intestines), they compete for transport into the bloodstream. Therefore, they should be supplemented separately.
