I’m a newbie again. Just started working out again after three years of marriage and sedentary life. I usually take a multi-vitamin, a zinc pill, and a Magnesium pill.
After reading many threads on here, I realized that I should take Fish oil too. Well, I was wondering if 2400mg of fish oil was too much. Also, I never noticed it, but I am taking about 533% of my daily value for Zinc. Is this stupid or okay to do?

HMM 2300mg of fish oil IMO is pretty low unless you are getting a lot from diet. Like salmon etc I suggest anyone take 6000-10000mg a day I personally pop 2000 (2 pill) each meal and call it good.
Zinc yes you can go over board But Im thinking you are OK at that level. Remember the RDA is the recomended daily allowance as in atleast not optimal. But I would do a pub med search its been a while since I read up on zinc.

I actually added wrong. I’ve been taking 4800mg of Fish oil (4x 1200mg pill) a day. I just started taking them two days ago. Is it normal for me to feel better? Maybe it’s just in my head, but I really like taking them. The daily recommended allowance for Zinc is 15mg (100%). I take about 80mg a day which is the 533%. But I also eat a lot of roast beef too. that would jack it up somewhat.
Not that worried anymore. I read up Zinc toxicity though. Just throwing up and water craps.
With higher doses of zinc you’ve got to be careful about keeping your zinc/copper balance in line. I forget how much, but if for every X units of zinc you’re supplementing (maybe it was 100 mg? Not sure) you’re supposed to also supplement with an additional 2 mg of copper. Don’t quote me on the numbers, though; I’ve been trying to get some clarity on it lately myself.
