Hey guys,
I am 28 years old. 5’11" and weigh 158 lbs with 15% body fat. Pretty bad! I have started to workout and 'am doing well and 'am feeling great! My goal is to get my fat% into the single digits and gain about 15 - 20 lbs of muscle. I have a question about nutrition. I was wondering what exactly is the proper ratio of macro nutrients one should be taking if I were to bulk up and at the same time lose fat? At the moment I take about a gram per pound of body weight for proteins. How much carbs should I be taking? I know I should go easy with the carbs. but I am not sure how many grams etc., can someone let me know the correct percentage for carbs and fat? Thanks,
BulyWully
Save yourself some embarrassment and read the “Diet Manifesto” article at t-mag. Now!
BullyWully…my man TEK’s on the money. You’re going to get hammered or embarassed, possibly both, by some of the fellow T-men out here. It may not be common knowledge to those who are new to this site that’s it’s just not feasible to make significant, or any, size gains, while trying to lose fat. You should concentrate on one goal or the other at a time. Hopefully you can shed the fat with minimal muscle loss and pack on some mass with minimal fat gain. Really, take some time to go through previous articles and issues. Yeah, it’s going to take some time and some work, but if you want it bad enough, you gotta work for it. Good luck, buddy.
Well, I was like you 4 years ago. Now I weight 185 pds of muscle with under 10% body fat. Itll take time, consistency, determination, hard work and lots of patience. If you have all this, you will reach your goal. Fail even one, you might as well take on golf.
