Let me rephrase: I haven’t measured in a while, but I would guess 27.5-28
I haven’t measured since my contest.
Uh, yeah…unless you know some people who look huge with quads under 27" or happen to be one of those people, why mention how your leg measurement has never been huge if you have legs over 27"?
Yes, I agree with your point that the measurement isn’t all that matters…but we knew that already.
I have seen people with legs 26-27 in contest condition that looked very impressive fwiw
Measurements can be tools, I agree, but they also depend On different factors. Leanness levels are important when dealing with measurements. I’m sure there are plenty of guys that lift but are carrying quite a bit of bodyfat with 27 inch or bigger legs, same thing with any measurement really.
Moving on, In general, the answer is 27".
25" legs probably aren’t making too many people think “bodybuilder”.
We don’t disagree tho, so no argument here lol.
But for the record, I’d much rather see a picture than just hear someone rattle off a measurement. This is a bodybuilding forum after all.
Having over 27 inch legs is a curse, unless your upper body is proportionately big ![]()

Good hamstrings.
Lol are we gonna turn this into a leg pic thread?
Did I just derail this thread ?

Lol look at the title. It’s been derailed for some time
We could make this a new leg routine/what works thread too

I like that idea. Lol it’s more or less a “vaguely-related to legs” thread at this point so I’m down with giving it some direction.

Here’s a recent pic of my leg. 5’8" tall, 26". Not saying my legs are big or anything- I’m not going to be happy with them until they’re bigger and leaner. Just providing an example of what a 26" leg looks like on a short guy. [/quote]
First…no more shots like that.
You need more squatz and more leg prezz.
On the scale of “may work out” to “heyyooge” you have 4 more bonus points to earn before you hit “big”.
You aren’t doing bad at all for the stage you are at.

Haha I hate leg shotz to begin with. I feel like they always end up somewhere in between really goofy rolled up pants shit that ends up a shadowy/amorphous mess (shows nothing) and a full on “black box” photo. Regardless, I probably won’t bother taking anymore for a long time unless there are shocking new developments.
And I can deal with that classification. Probably more generous than I’d be, honestly lol. I’ve had some equipment challenges lately due to being home (one heavy quad workout in about 4 weeks), but heavy squats and probably some leg press on the side will be back in on Tuesday.
I’ve got some solid ideas for programming now that I’m back to my usual gym, so I’ll start working those in over the next couple weeks and update if they work well.

You automtaically assumed ebomb meant that you could have quads less than 27" and have them look big. That’s clearly not what he was getting at. And LOL at your “this is about your own validation.” God, you are such a tool it amazes me.
Your legs look good bigmac.

Thanks man. Still very much a work in progress though- don’t know if I’d go as far as calling them “good” in general, but definitely much better than they were around mid last year. I won’t be thrilled with them until I can squat around 600 and look like it, which is a very long term goal. Until then, I just try to keep moving forward and improve upon the previous week in strength and appearance.
