This is off-topic but everyone listen to what Jay Cutler says in the beginning of this vid lol
As for lateral raises…I just started to incorporate them…I started to do them when I started to lift, and somehow along the road just stopped doing them…along with other activities my shoulders would be too fatigued so I cut them out.
Definately added them back in…did 30’s for a few sets of 12 with straight arm.
I think I’ll try the bent arm version more and try some 45’s or 50’s.
I actually always thought you were supposed to do them straight arm…learned somethin new today.

best lateral raise was doing sets of 5 seated one arm with 95s. bench was 370, deads were not too high due to old injuries 405 stif leg to about 4-5 inches below knee. squats were 405 ass to ground for 3 reps and bench squat above parallel 520x3
Hey man we are talking about lateral raises, not shrugs. I think you got the names of the movements mixed up.

I’m sorry, but there is something wrong with a person if they want to look like THAT.
He can’t even move normally.

I’m sure being an shw powerlifter with 40 percent bodyfat is a lot more fun than being Jay Cutler…?
He has a wife who supports him in everything he does, he has a ton of money… And once he’s retired, chances are he’ll drop to 240 or something like that.
Was there any particular reason for you to grace us with your highly important opinion, here in the bodybuilding forum and in a thread about lateral raise numbers?

His bodyweight for 10 reps, just like old Kaz used to do. How else could it be?

First, that video was completely off topic. The OP states that himself.
Second, I’m not dissing bodybuilding. I’m just saying that when it is taken to that extreme it no longer looks good anymore. I’m sure that you already know that the goal of bodybuilding is not to just simply get as big as possible. I’ve seen many bodybuilders who are smaller than Cutler, but look way better. That’s my point.

That is the last post I am making about this.
Have you ever been anywhere near Cutler’s size? How do you know he can’t function? I’ve seen pictures you posted of yourself and you were skinny fat, so what room do you have to talk. Many big guys work on flexibility, I know I do. You should be embarrassed to even say something like that.
I can’t scratch the middle of my back
I have to use my left hand to push my right elbow back so I can grab the seat belt in my car.
Obviously I am completely unable to function in society.

People bashing bodybuilders in bodybuilding forums suck ass.
I like working my way up to 50lbs seated. I swing a little bit but i lower under tension. I also like warming up with 20lb db for almost 4 to 5 sets to really make a good connection. Sometimes i cant feel my shoulders working so i up my warm up sets till i can feel the muscle working.

60lbsx8 REALLY cheated, haha. I think I’ve done 45lbsx8 with better form.
I think I read that the west the most arnold ever did on it.
I train with 30-20, everyonce in a while I’ve swung up a 35 like 1-3 times.
Wow guys lot of liars in this thread.
you’re saying that if someone lateral raises more than you he’s a liar and you can’t believe him? Dude do you think 30-20 is such an achievement that if so many people are stronger than you they’re lying?
heh no not shrugs. I would do 90x5 for 3 sets seated one arm. then i would do 2 arm lateral raises with the 75s for 5 reps. form was really good on all sets. I also have front raised the 100 lbs dumbells for 3 reps each arm back in the day. And i weighed 195lbs and 5’9". i was also cycling 500mgs a week of test-e.
In my gym which wasnt a powerlifting gym I was pound for pound the strongest guy, but there would alwyas be some random dude popping in that would do more weight then me. I am suprised u are so quick to call me a liar, which is really a tell-tale sign of u being insecure. But hey if u want to call every person a liar who is stronger then u good luck with that.

I’m starting to think the The Austrian Oaf is a troll, because he has been talking a lot of shit lately.

so I guess the rumours that you can’t dunk a basketball are true
Dude his shoulders ARE basketballs!
lol!
haha, man I used to love playing basketball, played everyday for about 5 years. My buddy plays for LSU now and we played a pick up game everyday after school. I hadn’t shot a basketball in about 3 years, I tried last week and definitely overshot the rim by almost 5 feet.
Anytime you want to see how much stronger you have gotten, go shoot a basketball and see how far you overshoot the rim, it’s a wonderful indicator of progress haha.

If you think you are stronger than me you need to put down the crack pipe my friend. I bench pressed 350 when I was 17 years old, I don’t think I’m too worried about you beating my numbers back then let alone 3 years later.
