Well all of you have it easy! My metabolism basically morphs to how much I’m eating. Literally while I worked over summer I was taking in 5000 Calories and gained exactly 3 pounds. I can also maintain my weight all the way down to 3000 Calories, I just lose some water because drop in carbs. I made most of my gains (from 6’0" 117 pounds to the first time I broke 200) on the range of 6-8k. I worked at Subway and I’d eat 3 footlongs and go next door and get 2 48 oz smoothies, each with probably 1500 Calories. And that was just 8 hours out of my day…

Wow gimmie your metabolism’s I can cut on 4000 a day, with zero cardio lol…
5000-5500 for me or I don’t grow shit!
Dude, are you serious? If so, that’s amazing. Because Dorian Yates, as big as he was, dieted down on 4,000 calories.
I can cut on 4000 too - just depends how active I am (used to cycle to work every day). Have to be around mid 4k to 5k to bulk properly.

I simply eat if I’m hungry. I’m adding weight to the bar constantly and losing weight so thats good. It’s not ideal but its simple and works. After all I don’t think the body was made such that you should eat 1800 calories exactly every day on non workout days and 2500 on workout days. sometimes it needs more, sometimes less. Just give it the right foods and let the weight on the bar and your physique tell you if you need more food or less

This depends on one’s metabolism and how much is needed for diet/bulk - if you have a fast metabolism like mine, then you can diet with just instinct (eat when hungry)…but there’s no way you can bulk on instinct and get down around 5000 cals just when you’re hungry LOL (got to be forced).
thats why I said this:Just give it the right foods and let the weight on the bar and your physique tell you if you need more food or less
If you aren’t bulking up like you want to then you need more food! I just don’t agree with the +500 cals or +1000cals rule. Figure it out on your own and what your body needs

damn mojo_ i feel sorry for you…when I was 215 I was growing easy on 4000 lol
I think I gotta up it a bit now though cause lots of conditioning for boxing…but shit…4000 to maintain…I eat 3000 and I’m a good to go seems like lol
Yup, it sucks. 900 calories every 3 hours without fail gets old fast.
But its better than being the scrawny bitch my body seems to love to be if I don’t.
Waiting on a Biotest sup that slows metabolic rate lol…

If i’m in a serious mass gaining phase I eat around 6000-7000 calories a day. This will let me gain around 2 pounds a week. But my bodyweight can be maintained on 2000-4000 a day. If i keep the calories clean I wont even gain almost no fat, only problem is that i cant afford to eat like this being a poor college kid.
