How much do you bench?

I don’t use the barbell anymore due to shoulder problems nor do I “max out” anymore. But at 36 years old, 5’7" and 187lbs I use 105lbs dumbbells for 3 - 4 reps with good control.

Best- 290 3xs with a “onethousandone” pause @ 6’2" 220. That would probably put my single at 300 - 310 w/ a pause and 350 with the 1/0/8 “bounce, bridge and squirm” method so popular with the kids nowdays.

245lbs 1rm at 190lbs - 6’1. That is untill i injured my shoulder. I can might bench me own arms now.

When I was 210 5’10 i put up 315 twice
Now 215 Incline 275 8 times

I have done 315 for 2, but on the second my nose started bleeding (never give up…)

Hey eag, I know that the “bounce, bridge and squirm” method is known for adding significantly to bench press poundages, but have you tried the “i’m on the internet so I can say whatever I want” technique? I’ll bet you could do 400 x 10 at a bodyweight of 175.

I bench 650!

Now that’s more like it, eag…don’t you just love the internet!

Well i’m 5 foot 6 and weigh 125lbs and my body naturally produces 0.1mg of test a day. I can bench a measly 120lbs…but I’m working on it…I’m pretty happy with benching my own body weight…

i am 17 yrs old i live in bethlehem pa and am the top line backer int the counrty and i bench 440thanks.

225 lbs. for 6 reps at a 211 tempo. I’m 5’9, 170lbs. That was during Phase II of Ian King’s Chest and Back Program. Hopefully by the end of it, I’ll be able to do more. Peace.

Jen, finally somebody in my own rank… it’s just that I am male. :frowning: I am surprised how strong all the mfs here are…

I like doing one-arm overhead presses with T-Vixen Jenn. It has helped my bench press considerably. In fact, I bench pressed an elephant when I went to the zoo the other day. Thanks for all your help with my training Jenn. Not to mention that I enjoy those skimpy, tight-ass shorts you wear to the gym. You provide the extra motivation I need.

I bench 145lbs at 5’11, 150 lbs (13.5% bf, I’m just tall). Anyone wanna tell me if that is good for a girl? I don’t have other women around to compare to. All the other women at the gym look like slimfast is all they consume.

About 5’5" and 180 and did 295 x 5. I have not tried a single in about 2 years but it was 340 while weighing around 170. Every time I start going heavy, my 32 year old shoulder starts to give up though. Singles are not too important though, its more of an ego thing. Train hard and don’t worry too much about the weight. Short arms help! My 55 year old dad (same frame basically) gets up to around 290 at about 165lbs - not too shabby. Nate Dogg, why not stop posting comments and give the guy a real answer? There’s nothing funny about someone looking for some ideas and some goals to shoot for! Geez!

Body weight 188, height 5’8" - Bench 315. Max was 360 in college.

1RM=EGO, AND IT’S NOT EGO THAT MAKES ONE WANT TO HAVE A “GOOD BUILD.” IF YOUR TO AFRAID TO DO A ONE REP MAX JUST ADMIT IT, WE WON’T HATE YOU.

[Note from moderator: Please tell your ego to stop using all caps. No need to yell.]

5’9" 205 lbs, bench BP 6*405 last night. Not sure what my 1 RM is. Afraid to push it too much as I don’t want to tare my Pec’s.

Nate Dogg, your turning into a real little smart ass! Take your panties off and maybe you’ll be able to bench your moma!

smitgill, I’m just making a point that when you ask questions like this you’re going to get a lot of answers that may be complete lies. As many people do lie on the forum. Did he say anything about trying to reach a goal? Or how he compares to others? Nope. He just wanted to know what other people bench. And it’s funny that the bench press is always the way people measure strength. Tomorrow, I plan on bench pressing a tractor trailor. Should be quite impressive. LOL!
