i personally try for at least 1gm/lb in solid foods. in college this is harder but ideally i shoot for at least 1.5. i can’t really tell how much meat i am eating right now but on daily i’m guessing it’s at least 1lb of cooked meat, mostly chicken or beef and sometimes pork.
in the summer, when i can cook for myself, i’ll be trying to eat 1.5lb -2 lb meats, which should give me 200g protein already. the rest can come from cheese, tuna, nuts, eggs, etc.
what about you guys? it would be cool if you stated your body stats, ie. weight and bf% and height.
i’m 5’9, 170lb, maybe 15% bf
Dailey Protein: Around 300 grams
Carbs: usually around 400
Fat: between 50-80
it depends on what day it is i eat alot more when i lift twice a day but im still recovering from screwin my metabolism up so it will end up bein alot mroe calories then i mtaking now which is between 3000-3500
I was trying to cut but have remained about the same BF while dropping 1kg in BW. Kept my lifts the same - even feel a bit stronger. So I’ve probably dropped 0.5% BF or something…
Eggs in the morning.
Fish at lunch.
Beef at dinner.

How many grams of carbs you on per day? And how long have you been cutting for. I am currently the opposite, want to bulk up to about 85Kg before starting to cut again.

90 to 100g of carbs each day (I find this is enough to keep my strength in the gym).
it’s a little more than I would like, but ehh I’m making good gains right now[/quote]
I’ve seen you say a couple times that you’d like to reduce your protein intake a little. I’m just curious as to why. We have very similar stats (I’m 5’9 and 170 lbs) and I’m taking in about 280 to 330 grams per day (training days vs. nontraining days respectively). Is it in the service of increasing other macros? Reducing overall calories?

guess I’ve just been used to a higher carb diet in the past (45-50%), and over 2g protein per lb of bodyweight just seems a little excessive.
again though, i’m making good gains, so until it stalls i’ll keep it the way it is.
i handle carbs really well, so extra won’t really hurt my BF much

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I’m at about 25-30% carbs right now. I don’t exactly balloon up when I take in carbs, but I am more sensitive to them than I had originally thought.

what weight are you? im a plasterer/ work in construction (family business) along with the personal training. . all summer and saturdays and i dont feel the need for the carbs if i have a roungh day at work jus up the protein a little and fat a little more. . no?
carbs seem like such a waste to me. . at least fat and protein can be utilised. . carbs are a waste of good calories imho id rather add a steak than a silly lookin bowl of pasta on a day i felt i earned a few more calories. . just me?
Protein= 400-450 grams a day.
Fat= 10 grams added each meal usually and whatever is in my protein foods.
Carbs= trace carbs from vegetables and around 85 from Waxy Maize Starch after training. Just the veggies on non training days
I usually eat four solid meals a day and two shakes. Each meal is 10-14 oz(eyeballed, but it’s at least that) meat whether it be beef chicken, or beef again ha. Usually 2 70-80 gram protein shakes to not feel like I’m chomping on food all day long.
I weigh about 205 and shoot for 200+ a day. I’ll have about a pound of chicken, beef, or other meat with dinner. That’s around 80-100 grams. Usually I’ll have Metabolic Drive, or Metabolic Drive Complete in the morning with my Superfood and another one after my workout or in the evening, plus whatever I have for snacks and lunch.
