I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this…
I was on TRT (Test Cyp 100mg/wk + Anastrozole 1/8mg/wk) for almost 2 years. I never felt “good” the whole while on this typical TRT regimen. The first 2 weeks ever of TRT I was on Clomid, and felt great. However, after the initial 2 weeks I crashed.
I finally decided to try a restart again on 25mg/day Clomid. After about a week or so on the Clomid I was really starting to feel like crap. I got blood work tested after 11 days to see what was going on and Total T came back 206ng/dL…
In anyone’s experience, if Clomid is completely ineffective by 10 days or so is there any chance that it will eventually ‘kick in’?
You’re probably going to need more time and more meds to restart yourself after 2 years of TRT. Do a search on PCT protocols and you’ll see the kind of doses that guys use when coming off steroid cycles. They usually start with HCG and then high dose Clomid (100 mg per day tapering to 50 after a couple of weeks). The 25 mg dose is more of a maintenance dose of clomid for someone whose own production is not shut down.
There’s a good lab test at privatemdlabs that you can get at Labcorp for $51 with a coupon code. It’s the Hormone Panel for Females and it measures TT, LH, FSH, and E2. Males also use this test and it will help monitor your restart. You will know if the Clomid is working by your LH and FSH numbers. It might take some time for your nuts to start producing T again.
Some feel like crap on Clomid. Nolvadex does not have that problem.
It takes time for testes to recover form and function … if at all.
I would have suggested T+hCG to allow testes to recover for 80 days, then switch to nolvadex for a while then test LH/FSH. If not good, you cannot recover, else taper off of nolvadex all the while you are on low dose anastrozole. Later, do labs to see what has happened.
After your clomid, you should be testing LH/FSH to see if the top end of your HPTA is working, If LH good and T low, testes need more recovery time or are damaged.
I had better results with 60mg Torem compared to 20mg Nolva. Higher LH/FSH by a pretty good margin. Unfortunately my balls didn’t cooperate. Never tried clomid.
