How Long for CK Levels to Drop

Got a blood test for a procedure, my ck (creatine kinaise) level came back 12,500. They want it at 590 or lower to do the procedure. I had a very hard workout the night before the blood test, which raises ck levels significantly, plus I’ve been using creatine monohydrate. So how long of no creatine supplementation, plus no workout two days prior to my bloodtest? I don’t know if this is a slow process or will it drop rapidly like a couple days or so.

I need it to happen fast as the procedure is wisdom teeth removal, and they are really killing me. My hope is that stopping the creatine immediately and make my last workout Friday, Monday morning I go in for the blood test. If anyone with knowledge about this can enlighten me, I’d appreciate it.

Anybody got an idea of how fast creatine blood levels drop after stopping creatine supplementing is stopped?

Hi
CK has a half life of about 12 hours, the most probable cause for your raised CK is from muscle breakdown (CK MM isoenzyme).

But creatine monohydrate supplementation also raises it as well, correct?

Don’t honestly know how it contribute to circulating CK level.
CK is raised in serum due to rupture of muscle cells (either skeletal or cardiac).

Your level is high but Ive seen levels like this after hard workouts.

Wee, just got new bloodwork done today. Havn’t worked out since Friday, and no Creatine since last Wednesday. I’ll find out tomorrow where it’s at. Hopefully below 590.

Levels came back at 491 today, good news!
