That’s another good point. Thank you for help in the sticky little situation I created for myself, and most of all thank you for the support! Perhaps before I start my split I’ll throw up some “before” pics.

Go for it, or at the very least make sure you take arm measurements before and after starting the specialization routine. I wouldn’t be surprised if the results were a little less drastic though considering you’d already be doing 2 weeks of it now and then will only be doing a few weeks of full body oriented work before going back to specializing. Make take the measurements now.
By the way make sure you take them under constant conditions, like in the morning right when you wake up.
I did weigh in and measure my arms the other day (which are both significantly lower). How often do you guys usually weigh/take pics/measure?

Scale, camera, tape…LOL
Weigh in morning after toilet visit, take pictures in good lighting (e.g. not directly under light bulb but just a bit away from it, behind it so that shadows are behind you)…and never with a mobile phone
If you cycle carbs, take pics the day after the high carb day.
Measure arms cold, same time as weigh in, tense and measure over largest area.
Pictures for arms don’t matter as long as situation is the same each time (if pumped, take when pumped again).
In my opinion though, results aren’t going to be mind blowing in such a short time.
I’m not expecting mind blowing results right away either, but when I start my split again, I’ll be snappin some pics and all that jazz ![]()
Opinion on specialisation: just did a 4-week cycle for arms, had fun, gained strength and size in biceps, triceps as well as forearms, and didn’t notice any decrease in other areas. Maintenance was a full body circuit in weeks one and three and adding split work after the arms work at every workout in weeks two and four (for example, monday: arms + 2 shoulder excercises, wednesday: arms + 2 back excercises, …)
I wanted to start a leg cycle right after but I’m gonna go with a regular split for now because I’ve got some small health concerns and I want to ramp up the volume for legs a bit again first, before specialising.
So yeah, I’d say it was a good experience.

That’s great, pretty much exactly the experience to expect–nice work!

Nice man did you take before and after measurements? How much strength did the bigger lifts gain?

Not really, I usually just go by mirror. Especially my biceps seem to have gained some size along with a ‘firmness’ that wasn’t there before. As for the lifts, the kind of weight I struggled with before for just about all of the excercises is now a weight I can handle…
But good call - when I go through with the leg specialisation, I will be taking measurements and more clear logging!
