Is one of your meals in the middle of the night, like at 2 am?

No I do:
7:30am
9:30am
12:30pm
2:30pm
5:00pm
7:00pm
9:30pm

Usually the 9:30 meal is this sludge I make out of 1cup cottage cheese, 1 scoop Grow!, 9 tablespoons flaxseeds

Holy shit, 9 tablespoons of flax oil??? Surely, that’s a typo…

Ah, nm. You said flaxseeds, not oil. Sorry, that threw me for a curve…

Seems like your on the right path. I follow a similar pattern of eating except that I take a EFA supplement or something similar with meals leading up to workouts, with the exception of a pre-workout protein supplement 30mins before working out.

A meal in the middle of the night is important. JB has written about this, and maybe LL did also. I like your “sludge”; mine is just 1 to 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese and 1 scoop chocolate Grow!.

I’ve been really thinking about adding a night-time meal. Seems like every night I wake up to piss anyway so I might as well right?

What kinda shakes do you guys do at night? I was thinking either pure Low-Carb Grow! or Grow! + olive oil…

I always take a big dose of Low-Carb Grow! mixed with milk and yogurt before going to bed. That will stay in my system for hours. I am very much of the position that sleep is more important than anything, so doing stuff in the middle of the night is counter-productive.

I simply don’t see why it should be necessary. Take it before you go to bed, and if it’s a slow-digesting protein, you’re good to go.

I agree that sleep is important, but I can’t go more than 3-1/2 to 4 hours without eating. I’m just starving if I do, and I lose too much muscle mass. I prepare the 2 am meal before bedtime, so I’m only up for like ten minutes. Also, I’m always so tired I fall right back to sleep. And if I can’t get back to sleep, I just take matters into my own hands, so to speak. That always works.

As for shakes, I just use Low-Carb Grow! with my regular nighttime meal.

Eat real foods!!

Eat Subway (footlong chicken breast preferred), cottage cheese, milk, eggs, turkey, beef jerky, etc.

Supplements are exactly that. Supplements. They supplement your diet. I highly doubt that a guy has gotten huge on just eating supplements, but its always possible. My best gains are when I actually take the time to eat real food.

Why do people consider having a Grow! supplement shake (ie a drink) a meal? A meal has meat in it, dammit!! In my books, you are only eating 5-6 times a day. While this is fine (I only eat 5 times meals a day), make sure you eat big and eat clean.

If you have trouble getting through your meals (the real ones, not the drinks), eat the stuff you don’t really enjoy first. For me this would be the salad and vege. Then you have saved the good stuff (MEAT!!!) for last, and you are less likely to skip eating it and more likely to enjoy it.

You are right. The trick is to make the supplement protein drink your liquid part of the meal that contains veggies and meat.

I wish I could eat more food, The reason I’m having so much Grow! is cause it’s so convenient at work…How many scoops of Grow! is everyone else using per day? (I thought mine was on the “low” side compared to others")

I use a full bottle of Grow! every week, and I mix another brand of whey protein in, 1:1. Plus I eat a shit-load of real food.
